Popular Post Mean Green Posted August 13, 2022 Author Popular Post Share Posted August 13, 2022 Got some work done on the sleeper got it stripped down all the hinges were bout rusted solid used air craft stripper and removed the 5 layers of paint over all its in good shape.Found some corrosion at the lower mount its steel on aluminum and after some measuring I think I'm going to cut the center of the floor and lower it down over the frame and weld in some c channel to fill the gaps on either side this will remove the corrosion and bring the top down closer to my roof and line up the bottom to the rocker on the cab a little better 7 Quote If your going to be a bear be a grizzly Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Mean Green Posted August 13, 2022 Author Share Posted August 13, 2022 The hole is there I just took out the rivets for the trim then used the same holes to install the aluminum plate to cover it .I run dual 5 inch stacks and I would have a big gap between the cab and sleeper I can't move the stacks farther forward cause it's up against the fuel tank allready and the tank is bout touching the fender maby once I have it on and fitted ill change my mind but for now I think I'll just leave them separate 2 Quote If your going to be a bear be a grizzly Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And yes good luck with the cutting .. I wanted to get the top of it closer to the height of my cab so when I took the mount off I found the aluminum had rotted on the front and back and somone had poked 2 holes with a fork lift so I killed 2 birds with one stone by cutting and lowering it the next problem I have to fix is I need to push my stacks forward some but I have to move my fuel tank forward to get some more clearance and make new lower stack mounts that are wider and move them down on the frame because the lower sleeper will hit them and I want the stacks wider to fill the gap evenly so the sleeper dosent look too wide 3 Quote If your going to be a bear be a grizzly Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Could not get the bottom latches to work and checking my older pics found I had swapped the lower doors from side to side I thought all the handles were in the lower corners .
