Had a local shop check and the clock is right. So now it up to the dealer to give some. He claims it was a mistake but misrepresented.  All he wants to do is take truck back to commifornia but I would lose the trucking I paid. If he wants to play games I can do that with paper work for misleading sales.

Good/bad?  Never had one.

The info I recall was that it gave like 370 HP within a certain rpm range (low rpm) and 355 HP in higher rpm.

I am not up on computers to say if it is programmable or not.

Jim

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

Might be something totally different but I drove a freight liner with the computer programmed to give you 475hp when the cruise was set and 450 or 425 when it wasn’t on. Supposedly it was thas encourage the use of the cruise control and that would hopefully lead to better mpg.

The problems we face today exist because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by the people who vote for a living.

The government can only "give" someone what they first take from another.

Mack can not run vin # said it's to old.

Any other thoughts. Will post pics once I pull the trigger.

Give me the model and last 6 of the vin and I can pull up in the Mack mainframe on Monday and see if it's still at that hp level

MaxiCruise the top of the torque curve runs from 1100 to max around 1400 rpm, peak H.P. runs from about 1400 to 1800 rpm. Mack felt since most OTR  use is around 1400 rpm that  puts the most useful torque and power peaks at what they felt was the cruise "zone" when the unit will work less for better economy . said it cuts the need to down shift on the interstate for most situations. Mostly cam /timing and turbo size to move the power band up.

This truck is still at the 330/350 level. It's the exact same engine as the 400 and could be bumped up to 400 with a factory download. The torque output is the same either way at 1460. Anything bigger requires turbo and injectors and cam key way change. But with that trans you might need to stay with the maxi cruise setup. You could also get the 355/380 download that requires no parts and get 1560 torque output.
