j hancock Posted February 5, 2018 Share Posted February 5, 2018 Somewhere I had the code but it is currently MIA. Even with the code, most paint guys can't use the code to make the seafoam paint. The old code recipe is not in their system. I would probably take a small piece off the interior, buff it and have a automotive paint store use their camera to scan it. 2 Quote JimIt doesn't cost anything to pay attention. doubleclutchinweasel Posted March 23, 2018 Share Posted March 23, 2018 I have seen a few different ones. Most of the Bs I have seen were darker, and some even sparkled a bit! The Rs are a dull (flat) color. And, as I said, I have seen variations in color (this is from way back, when they were probably original). Like he said, above, take a part off. 57 bcr Posted March 26, 2018 Share Posted March 26, 2018 The backside of the glove box door or even the inside of the heater box cover ( if still there) were usually out of the sun,and will buff out to give the paint "mixer" something to work with. I had a couple of color "swatches " for the "seafoam" (or light mint) green. Gave those away to fellow restorers. Mack changed around '70 to an O D green like color. Rob Posted March 26, 2018 Share Posted March 26, 2018 I have a Sikkens number, (probably PPG too) for the B, and R series greens at the shop in a notebook I'd intermixed years ago for the group. I'll see if I can find it today or tomorrow. I remember for the B series the base color was a Volvo automobile green which needed just a slight bit of additional toner added to match very close. Mack paint code 811 is the Olive color.
