hicrop10 Posted August 8, 2013 Share Posted August 8, 2013 Your truck looks great.I was hoping to have my B87 done for the Gerharts All Mack show this year,but this damm surgery has me all fouled up.Won't be back working on it till Dec.at best.I would love to have a single axle B61 with a updated motor for better mpg as my daily driver. teleman Posted August 8, 2013 Author Share Posted August 8, 2013 Thanks...Im really happy with the way it turned out...It drives good and I like the tranny a TRT720 with 5.78 gears,Its a cruiser...works out to about 65/66 mph . Popular Post teleman Posted August 17, 2013 Author Popular Post Share Posted August 17, 2013 I made it to the parade last saturday and everything went good....just got back from a car show tonight and put about 60 miles on her.I was running 50 mph at 1600 most of the way and everything seemed tight and temp stayed 170-180 and oil pressure 40-50...what a blast...looking like a real truck now,pinion seal leaking and slinging some oil around and I must have over greased the u-joints because it threw grease all over the back of the cab...I love driving it and tonight on the way home,dark,cool,no traffic I thought of my dad driving his B 61 for Yankee lines three times a week...Akron to Baltimore...I miss him and I know he would be proud of me getting this B 61 back on the road...Jim 9 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Maddog13407 Posted August 17, 2013 Share Posted August 17, 2013 haha, mine has a new pinion seal in it and still flings grease all over the inside of the frame and under the fifth wheel plate. adds character I think, kinda like an old Panhead dripping oil. think mine nees a new yolk or s speediseal . I have taken a few Mack rears apart and found two pinion seals back to back in the housing from Mack originally also. think they leaked brand new sometimes.
