the DE Mil process is a lot of red tape and when they go to inspect it if it wont start they just mark will not start/run, probably dead batteries, if it was down they would have fixed it then parked it for a year or two then sold it they have procedures that make almost every vehicle get repaired no matter how old until its deemed excess then it sits in a lot till they get their paperwork done. I think one of these would be a great piece of history, I mean come on military Mack to take to a truck show most people never knew existed.

Quite a few of these Macks, and Dodges, became fire tankers after their military service was over. While they may not be the optimum fire tanker, they probably work for a small department

that cannot afford anything fancier (those departments do exist).
