  1. Enjoyed the pictures. Looks like it can be saved.
  2. As caroltpilot said DOT is checking more. I have electric over hydraulic brakes on my 24K gooseneck and pull it with a Freightliner. I got pulled over for a safety inspection at a weigh station. The Dot inspector wanted me to slide the tandems on the pavement with a loaded trailer. I told him that I was not going to tear my clutch out to do that. After he got the state patrol involved they let me pull forward and apply the brakes as they watched the trailer tandems. I think they could see that the brakes were working and let me go.
  3. Needed to get the 1942 unstyled G out of the shop today. Though why not start some of the others. Hope you did want some pictures of the four leg creatures.
  4. I have a B61T 673 single axel geared 5.74, 22" tires,& TRQ 7210 trans. 5D is .84 & 5HS are .69 ratios . I would like to run about 70 mph. I would like to change to a 1 piece rim which would be 24.5 rubber I think. I could stay with the 22" rubber which may be cheaper if I could find good tires. Any advise on tires and gear ratios is welcome. Also I drained the rear end and found small amount of metal flakes on the plug.
  5. Enjoyed the pictures. I have had it with winter as it is snowing here again today. I will get the backhoe out and clear the lane this afternoon again. Thinking of going to Prescott AZ. to see my sister then farther south.
  6. Tekonsha has a wiring diagram / harness that they say will work on pos. gr. systems with their P3 brake controller. www. tekonsha.com 1 888 785 5832. I have used their products they are good but not cheap.
  7. I wonder what engine this truck would have had in it ?
  8. I just noticed new pictures of your B model . Great shot and a very good looking truck. One question what are the numbers or letters on the side ?
  9. Sorry to hear. Had a similar situation after 41 years. Sometimes you grow together or grow apart. I have read that divorce among the 50 + year olds is increasing.
  10. 2003 I put a bed on my Freightliner using 7 " x 12' shiplap Apitong . I think it was 5/4. I got it from Transportation Supply Depot near me a Fruehauf parts dealer. They also had oak available. I think they had other widths available. I do not know if you have anyone like this near you. They also did trailer repair.
  11. I wish someone has an idea for this. Something cheap and easy. I have an engine on the shop floor also a steel table. Would like to turn the engine upside down pull the pan clean out and plastigauge the rods and mains. I have a stand but a 460 ford engine was all it could handle.
  12. I have read this post with interest for the past few days as my B model would only build about 80# but not hold. Found some leaking lines on removal of the cab. Thought I would replace the governor / unloader . Where is it located ( on firewall ? ) and where is a good source to get one. My air brake knowledge is limited. Thanks.
  13. Looks to be a very good original tractor. Just may need side shields.
  14. My thoughts are along the same line as gmerrilo516. Film thickness should be important.
  15. Does anyone know what diesel engine the B85 and what gas engine the B86 had ?
  16. A few years ago I bought Mack Model B photo archive volume 1 & 2 books by Thomas E. Warth. Great to look at and contain a lot of information. Does anything like this exist for the R model ?
  17. Enjoyed the pictures once again.
  18. I agree with Farmer 52 on the J.D. 4020. It was a while since I have seen pictures of it but I did not like the end result. Just my opinion.
