  1. I had the same problem a few days ago on a current topic. I tried twice both took along time then went to autosave and never showed up.
  2. There is a lot of knowledge & help on this site. Stay healthy live long so we can help each other. If some one passes every thing they know maybe lost.
  3. Great testimony & story. Most likely a lot of us could use more exercise and a better diet. I retired thee years ago and your post gave me a wake up call. I realized that I am in the worst shape I have ever was in. Not good 5' 9" 180# but fixing a flat on my Mack left me short of breath. Good luck to you and Eastcoastdiesel stick with it.
  4. Just curious how did you contact the historian. Years ago I could contact an archivist at John Deere by phone. It was Les Seg or Vicky Ellery. Then they got to busy for phone contact and you could write to them for information on tractors. Since Jack Cheery to over you must go thru him for a fee to get information.
  5. Nice find. Wish I had it all my tractors are green & yellow. Best of luck with it.
  6. Thanks. The previous owner said it had 70,000 rears? It is a B 83 SX. The build sheet lists wheel-- axle arrgt.-- rear ( SWD59 )- 64601, 64605 . I am not sure what all this means.
  7. Can anyone give me the wt. rating on a SWD 59 rear axle.
  8. Removed rear tires to fix a flat. Noticed this. Balance or cracked drum? 5/8 or 1/2 rods welded to drum. Both rear drums this way.
  9. Keep It. A few years ago I sold seven of my John Deere model G s most were restored some good original. This was over half of my collection of G s. Today I wish I had most of them back Two I will never have again. My reasoning was they just set there collecting dust. Some I had not started in over a year. Today I regret selling them. The money was nice then but looking back I miss the tractors.
  10. Did not know dogs could get diabetes. Glad you found out. Dogs are special to me, sometimes I like them more than people.
  11. I have used Tal-Strip before Stripped whole cars with it works good. Takes time and elbow grease.
  12. Welcome. Don't feel bad about the pictures although it is always great to see them. I have only posted two. Tried later to post more but always came up with file not found. Trying to use photo bucket
  13. Thanks to all for you replies. Stopped work on the Mack to work on the backhoe for snow removable. Will let you know what worked.
  14. I got my B 61 into the shop to start restoration. The truck has not run in two years but with good batteries would always fire right up. Now I cant get it to start or even hit. Fresh fuel ,filters, some new lines, new hand primer pump. With the hand pump I can get fuel to go back to the tank from the return line. I cracked open the fuel lines at injectors 2,3,4,5,&6 after cranking numerous times no fuel seen here. Then I cracked open fuel lines 1,2,3,&4 off the injector pump still can not see any fuel here after cranking the engine over. Would capping the return line, tank vent and putting about 5 psi air on the tank help? Any help would be appreciated.
  15. I have a couple pictures of the tractors but having trouble getting them posted. Will post pictures of the work on the truck.
  16. The Deeres are a 51GW Sugar beet special, 53G,38G,41G,&36B. Pictures are hard to take as the barn is jammed full of stuff.
  17. The green and yellow are Larmie trucking & crane rental Detroit MI. Thanks everyone. Ed
  18. Pic of my two trucks I have not started the B61 for a couple of years. Plan to start restoration this week. The B83 is complete except for clutch petal and radiator cap has not run in some time.
  19. Thanks. Plan to take some pictures this week end and will try.
  20. I am not sure where to post this question. Thought I would try here. I would like to post some pictures of my Mack trucks Before I start restoration. Barry has suggested we use photo bucket. What is it and how do I get it? Then how do I post pictures from my camera? I need detailed instructions as my computer skills are very limited. Any help would be appreciated.
  21. WELCOME Great group. A lot of knowledge and information . Pictures are important.
  22. Welcome. This is a great site with a lot of good people. I will give you a heads up on this pictures are important.
  23. I was told by the Indiana DOT that I could do my own inspections ,but must have the proper forms. One copy in the truck and one on file.
  24. Welcome this a GREAT group.
  25. It is a good idea to treat the metal with an acid prep even if it has been sand blasted. Depending in how deep the pits are a good high speed laquer primer or a light coat of body filler for large and deep ones. Then a lot of block sanding.
