  1. I need an air tank 2 compartments 34" long about 9.5 dia.
  2. My Dupont supplier now handles PPG products and is trying to get me to try their color base coat & clear coat systems. Did Dupont buy PPG as they did Nason as they did a few years ago?
  3. Looks great. What did you use for paint ????
  4. What I was looking for was what to do if necessary on the motor as far as any tests or checks. I was told to take a line off each injector one at a time with motor running and see if you notice any difference. Things like this. Also the oil pressures were at idle Thanks.
  5. I got the B61T on the road for a few very short runs. Everything mechanical seems to work. Next step is to pull the cab off to clean frame for paint. Before I do want to be sure if there is any thing that needs to be checked with engine running ( 673 NA ). Starts up with a small wisp of white smoke then runs clear for a diesel. A puff of white and black on acceleration. Oil pressure is 80# cold 30# at 160 deg. I think the oil is at least 30wt.probally non detergent. Never plan to work the truck. Not a lot of experience with diesel engines. Any advise would be appreciated.
  6. I worked 38+ years in the paper industry. They had a program which paid for college courses which you passed. I encouraged a young man about 35 years old to get a degree on line. Shortly after he graduated he was promoted to a better job and since has had a couple of promotions. At first he had some reservations as he said " I was not the best student in high school ". It was tough working full time and studying but he stuck it out. If you want to do it you should. If you are interested in the subject if will be fun at times. GO FOR IT.
  7. After sand blasting I use a acid etch or DuPont veri prime. Follow this with Nason fill and prime do the necessary wet sanding then coat with a good primer sealer. I have ben using DuPont Centari with Nason overall gloss hardner with good results. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive. .
  8. Cute. Good luck. Nothing like a dog for companionship.
  9. I have built two shops over the years My present shop is 40' x 64' with two 20" X 44' I beams. overhead & four chain hoists. I put in a rest room with shower and a floor drain. It s big enough for long term projects and room to do other short term jobs oil changes & emergency repairs. It is not too large to heat and cool. If you need a shop and storage area larger is better. I built a pole barn and a lean to on the back of the shop for storage both are full. As for tools you know what you need and can always get more later as something new is nice.
  10. Sorry for your loss. Know what you are going thru had to put my German Shepard down a while ago.
  11. No advice. Sounds like you are doing everything you can. Best of luck.. Keep us updated.
  12. I had a new 99 Ford 550 Super duty that had both. If memory serves me the metric were a different color which was ok until they got dirty oil covered.
  13. I ran into the same thing on Case backhoes. S.A.E. and metric. You did not what you had until it was time to put everything back together.

  15. I new where a hole truck was two years ago. Owner wanted $1000.00 for it. I was interested in for parts. Motor was shot, set in woods for years, 6" tree growing thru front bumper, but cab did not seem too bad then. If you are interested in it I could look at it again. I will be going to NH. this summer and could bring it that way. A lot of ifs in this here. Let me know what you think and can share cost. Could try to get some pictures.

  20. I need to replace most of the flexible air lines on my B61T. I think I can get the covered steel braded made locally but they seem expensive. What other options do I have? Anything I can cut to length and use? Also looking for a air tank.
  21. Great pics. and a great idea.
  22. I have used an impact turned down with PB blaster. You have to hold the impact on the nut for a while and let it vibrate. The vibration and BP plaster have worked for me on a lot of farm equipment, but it takes some time.
  23. Thank you for your sons service. Best wishes
  24. Would like to add this one. The Bluegrass truck stop south of Richmond Ky. Close to where I 75 ended in the mid 60's. Never was there as a trucker, but would go there from college on a Sunday just to get the fried chicken.
