  5. I work for a highway dept., we bought 6 new 2006 IH 7600 allison automatics we have had more trouble with wiring on those trucks since we got them. the transmission harness went bad so they bought a new one ($500) from IH it lasted 1 month and the wires went bad. every winter we go thru the wiring on those trucks so we cane keep plowing snow.

  8. I have a 69 R685LT that has the same part# 53QK567 RH,( but dont want to sell it) you might look at the early R model with the stacked springs should be fairy easy to find. i bet the hanger that is longer came off of the 3 leaf spring setup. Ron
  9. Kent yes the complete bracket ass. i used the front axle out of i think 74 maybe 75 F model i wanted front brakes but it was the same 535 axle that came out of my R model. the front hanger had straight pins, the rear ones i used for the U model had the threaded pins. make sure you get all the parts for the hanger. you might get ahold of Counterman on this site ans if he has any mid to late U models laying around. Ron
  10. I have a 72 R model that i installed 3 leaf springs a few years ago, i got parts off of a 78. ( may be imposible to find ) but find you a late 70s early 80s U model that has 3 leaf springs. you need the rear spring hangers, blocks on the axle, springs, and the battery box brackets that bolt on the hanger. the front hangers are the same as the older R models. i think it does ride better with the 3 leaf front end. Ron

  13. If you are on 22.5, high tred tires and run 62 to 65 i bet you have 4.17 or 3.87. i dout you have 3.65 with a 5 speed unless someone installed them, that thing would be gutless. Ron
  14. Theakerstwo does a cummins have a thing like a puff limiter on a Mack, it seems i saw a little 1/4" line coming from the intake manifold on a 78 350 big cam. Ron
  15. Its not as easy as turning a screw, there is a button under a cover at the bottom of the fuel pump that has numbers, there are shims in there too for the max RPM. i think the lower the number the more fuel, and in the throttle shaft there are shims you can add to increase fuel pressure. you would be better off to leave it alone in my opinion. Ron
  16. Mark those old style hats are getting hard to come by. i go to swapmeets all the time and you cant hardly find the old Mack hats & belt buckle like you used to. a few years ago i found a new still in the box from Mack F- model belt buckle, i also found 2 Blue Mountian Mack hats, i will keep my eyes open for any old style logo hats.
