  1. Thanks I didn't know that, I think they changed there name to Tate & Lyle, don't know if Tate & Lyle bought Staley out or just changed there name.
  2. Are you sure it isn't a 2 stick 6 speed? someone must have changed the trans. if it is a 12 speed behind that 676.
  3. I didn't know A.E. Staley went back to the 40s, we have 2 corn plants in Lafayette, IN. I hauled corn in to them for 30 years.
  4. I don't mess with suicide rims ( the ones that has the split in the middle of the rim) but the ones with the rings I keep tapping on the ring while seating the tire 10-20 psi max then install on truck and finish airing them up, if it blows the ring off it will be on the inside duels. but this doesn't work on the front.
  5. I plow snow for a county highway dept, not getting much overtime but enjoying the nice weather. Merry Christmas to everybody, hope everybody has a safe holiday.
  6. Larry is a nice guy, I talked to him at Macungie and York, there were a quite of few F models at York and nice ones too, he has put a lot of work into it, I don't think it could have went to a better place. I like the twin stainless mufflers. my brother took his green 78 F model there too.
  7. I was wandering the same thing if all Mack triple countershaft were the same, plus if rear mounted PTOs were the same other than ratios.
  8. The red one and the black one are 300 Mack, 5 speeds, I have seen both at Macungie and York.
  9. I agree with Terry a 5 speed with 4.17 wound tight would get you around 65-68. 3.86 70-72.
  10. That sucks, I changed the cam and lifters in a 72 R model with a 237 a few years ago, the lifters cost more than the cam. good luck.
  11. Mine will run 80 mph and on a good road it is smooth, it cruises nice at 75.
  12. What you live in PA. and never been to Macungie!!!!. I drive 700 miles to go there every year, don't know what I would do if I missed it. you don't know what you are missing.
  13. I have heard that (Fresh Cab) air fresheners work good. I put some packs in my trucks and didn't have mice in last year, don't know if it works but it says is does.
  14. When I put half fenders on my R model with camel back I jacked up the front drive to the stops and set them up that way just so the tires wouldn't touch.
  15. Glad you are home, hope you have a speedy recovery.
  16. What engine would have been in the 10 gas or diesel?, don't know what number we had.
