  1. Nice truck. I could live with everything but those 12:00-24" tube type tires. I am getting too old to work with them and way too expensive and hard to get even in the East. Joe D.
  2. I have one.It makes it much easier to remove stubborn joints. I work on my own trucks but not a mechanic by any means. It beats jacking or hammer. Joe D.
  3. Sorry to hear about the sour deal Paul. If indeed someone in Delaware bought it sometime down the line it will be at a show or seen by someone. How anyone could enjoy it is beyond me. Joe D.
  4. Good save. By the size of it a garage of its own is in order. Joe D.
  5. Brocky nice pictures of the H-Models. Never saw any figures on sales in different areas,I would think the largest sales for the H-Model was in the Southern States. A lot of the big freight and furniture haulers that were Southern based used them. Not to mention the produce haulers. Joe D.
  6. Ernie I am working on I-84 Mount Cobb,Penna. I saw one of your Western Stars a few times right before the split with I-380. Job I am on is about one mile from my house. Hard to get better than that after running 48 states. Joe D.
  7. Ernie mine is a 14 liter 515 HP. It was a nice get together with the wives last winter. Things are good we are busy. Joe D.
  8. You would not have to split every gear on the topside of trans. The 13 speed gives a much better low gear and overdrive in 13th unless it is a 13 speed direct which is not common.Joe D.
  9. Nice picture. It looks good with name on trailer. Joe D.
  10. What year did they start using the updated oilpan?I have an 2005 Series 60. All joking aside it is probably the best engine we ever bought.Joe D.
  11. Don Jr. I measured mine the one with u-joints is 33" long to center of yokes. The one with flange mounts is 30" long. Joe D.
  12. Red Valueliner is for the driver that just lost his ass so he does not need a seat. Good deal Mike. Joe D.
  13. 2 stack that rolloff picture you posted that is owned by Bolus Motor Lines was mine at one time. When I owned it it was a single axle with a $75.00 tag axle I put on it. It had a 237 with a 5 speed and Dynatard. I ran Seattle Washinton and California steady with it for about 2 years it never let me down. When going across Wyoming in a headwind I would stick my hand out the window to see if I was moving. It replaced a GMC Astro I rolled over in Montana with a load of apples.I made money with it but worked my butt off.I was beyond broke when I bought it but that truck turned things around for me. I remember one time at the scale in Montana they called me in,when I went in I asked whats wrong they said nothing just wanted to see what kind of man would drive that truck steady from coast to coast.I had a 24" sleeper on it that I could not get into. Joey Bolus put I think a 350 Mack engine new trans and rears. That picture brings back memories. Joe D.
  14. Mike not often you see a Ford C-Model tandem. What is the driveline in it ? Blue paint looks good on R. Joe D.
  15. I know there was a 501 cu.in. in the R-Model IH. Joe D.
  16. I have a few of them. It will be a day or two before I can get to measure them. Joe D.
  17. Still impressive looking. A few years ago he had an aluminum cabbed Emeryville 250 5X3 speed rears for sale. I did not see it when I went by his place. Joe D.
  18. High Binder pretty sure the picture you posted was truck built by ATHS Member that lived on Route 46 in New Jersey just past Hot Dog Johnnies. There was an article about it in Wheels of Time about 15 years ago.If it is the same truck he built quite a few parts himself. I stopped to talk to him back then and he told me the story about it. I think it went down South somewhere. If not the same truck paint and sleeper look identical. Thanks for the picture. Joe D.
  19. Mark That looks like an Orville Sleeper from Orville,Ohio. In the late 40's up to early 60'S they made sleeper cabs for most trucks. Truck manufacturer would send truck to them they would cut roof and widen cab. There was an article about them in Wheels of Time quite a few years back. I saw a F-8 Ford about 1952 with same sleeper which was about as the Dodge with one. Mack,Autocar,Brockway,Diamond T and Reo used them also. Their trademark was the side window I was told it was from a 1940 Ford. The town where I grew up had a 49,50 Dodge straight 6 413 cu.in. with twin aces and straight pipe. It sounded great. It was on those truck trading card about 15 years ago. Joe d.
  20. I could never get to say a truck is bad looking but they are butt-ugly. Interesting pictures to say the least. Thanks Joe D.
  21. Paul nice Dodge with the FWD front tin. I remember them in the 1970's when Jim Burns had them and some other car carriers. Low cab so they could put a full size pickup on headramp. All the ones I saw had a 6-71 Detroit and 10 speed Roadranger. Chuck P. Thanks for owners name of the White's. Joe D.
  22. Don I hope you do not delete the topic as your truck is a nice example of a H-Model. Glad it went to a good home. Joe D..
  23. Looks like the man cut it twice and its still too short.I hope better service on the new u-joint. Joe D.
  24. Chuck P where are the 3 J Z trucks from ? Nice pictures from all. Thanks Joe D.
  25. Thanks Paul. Joe D.
