  1. Forgot all about the rim weight rating definitely will go with the 9 inch width, thanks
  2. I am in the process of having a 20000 lb steerable drop axle installed on my dump, thinking of going with 315/80-22.5 tires so looking around for a set of used aluminum 10 hole rims, will these tires fit on 8.25 or is 9 inch with a must. Thanks
  3. Who says running water wont freeze, lol
  4. Damn,I sure hope they keep those peneltys in Conn.and they dont migrate to NY!
  5. Around here most of all the big construction and paving company's are switching to Kenworth, owner operators as well,I'm sure its not about durability of the truck but more about attracting the best drivers with the comfort features of a Kenworth,Lets face it,Mack could care less about driver comfort, the guys that do a lot of off road work are still sticking with Macks because with out a doubt they are still the toughest truck built.
  6. I had one in my 83 rd and there was a bulldog on it somewhere not 100 percent sure if it said mack on it,truck was way to loud to listen to the radio, lol
  7. Joe,I have the grandfathered down state type 1 permit, all I need is a 16 foot wheel base and now starting in 2115 I will also need to have four axles,Ill be able to gross 79000 on my truck with the new drop axle,I know its stupid to have a drop axle with 58000 rears but that's what I have to do.
  8. A good welder might be able to repair it,worth a shot.
  9. If your truck is a CL then they would be 58000 or 44000,most likely 440000 if its a factory tri axle I just bought a 20000 drop axle for my 96 cl,mine was a factory 10 w dump with 58000 rears.
  10. Looks great but not so sure about mounting it rigid to the frame and the cab,you will need some room for flex and movement no?
  11. Look at the wire harness that goes to the head lights, start at the head lights and trace it back.i had a problem on my 96 cl with both sides right in the front of the truck just a foot or so from the head lights.
  12. I am 100 per cent sure about the three air bag set up,I drove his truck once and noticed how it leaned a little when corning, thats when i looked under the cab,I think the truck was a 95,next time i go to mack I'll ask them.
  13. Have a question about the cl cabs,I have a 1996 cl factory dump, the cab has one huge air bag in the back of the cab and two solid tupe mounts on each side of the front,I know a friend of mine had a simaler year cl and all three mounts were air bag, any one know when they switched and why or could you buy them eather way,his truck was also a factory dump.
  14. If the tires are a different diamator your going to have a problem, move two of the new tires to to the rear axle opposit side and see what happens.
  15. The phone call interups the cb,no need to key the mike to talk once you push the bluetooth buton on the mike your call is conected and you just talk and listen throught the cb speaker or if you have a n external speaker like i do it sound even better, when the call ends your back on cb mode..
  16. No headset when the phone rings through your cb speaker you just press a button on the mike and you are conected, today i just left my mike hung up on the consol and talked, my callers said that i sounded great and there voice was clear as a bell, sounds so much better than the phone its self,i have it paired to a galaxy 5 and it reads my text messages to me also as they come in,I love it..
  17. This radio is awsome, the bluetooth is crystal clear and so easy to pair with your phone, anybody else using one?
  18. Should also be a switch on the inj pump, make sure your throttle is coming all the way back and activating the switch.
  19. I honestly dont know,i never messed with mine, truck runs great the way it is.
  20. you need the air pressure to go to the puffer,by disconnecting that line the puffer wont let the rack open,as the turbo builds air pressure in the manafold it goes to the puffer valve and lets the rack in the pump open,in other words to by pass this type of puffer you would need air pressure going to it all the time.
  21. check out the easy stuff first, fuel lines or lift pump, keep in mind just a pin hole air leak in one of the fuel lines could starve the engine for fuel..good luck
  22. That line comes from the manafold right, when the air pressure builds in the manafold it goes through that line to the puffer and alowing the rack in the pump to open, that means the puffer is working assuming your getting enough air to it for it to open fully,if your turbo is working ok and air filter is not plugged and that air line is clear then i just think you have a severe fuel restriction problem, hope you figure it out, youll be amazed how that truck pulls a load down the road.
  23. The puffer on these engines are very different from what these guys are talking about,im not sure how to dissable it and to be honest i dont think thats your problem, does your truck have and air throttle like mine if make sure its working right, have some one watch the the lever on the pump when you apple the throttle from inside the cab.
