  1. Once I have heard about the same kind of excident here in Moscow. A dump truck went off the ramp and failed down. Both driver and the co-driver were killed.
  2. Wheels and hubs all around - NR-model. The same about front fenders and the windshield. The fuel tank is off another vehicle and the wheelbase was shortened. I might be wrong though, nobody can tell what is it exactly from seeing an only picture. Anyway thanks alot for sharing.
  3. I agree. L-model Mack. It possibly could be NR re-cabbed and re-furbished with shutters and chrome trim either. Many of such ones could be found in Europe those days. But following that logic any truck could be a re-furbished NR
  4. I know there's a truck in Europe, probably Belgien. But unfortunately I have no contact info of the owner.
  5. Of those 26,965 N series military trucks about 16,500 were NR's. So looks like no sence to count it is a rare vehicle
  6. Nice KW indeed. And the dozer is a cool old machine either. I'd be glad to take a place at the observation deck to do some more observation to look at them.
  7. Wow! I just didn't check B-store for a while. If so, there's not much of trouble to fabricate the steel part and add a piece of glass. And what a real pleasure to make plans for what I'm not going to do
  8. From what I've seen in the wiki section that's put there by our great Mack experts, R-model frame rail heigth was 9" and RD was 10.62" or 10.75" as option. But R-700S had 10.5" and whole 10.62" as option either. On the other note what was the last year of an R-model in production? 1988? Could you just buy an R in 1989 and later?
  9. I supose reproducing the rubber part would be the most trouble. But could be done in theory.
  10. That's one of difficult to imagine situations. But now you see it's real.
  11. And the one on your truck looks correct to me
  12. I just have no Bedford cab to put on my truck and get a jump on the resto. I'm a stock liker and generally see not much of historical value in deep modified vehicles. There could be some exceptions though when a modification itself has a history on it.
  13. Hmmm... But I still don't see where maple syrup is running?
  14. Too sad indeed. Seeing the shots I note to myself how good your highways are done with that great distance between the lanes of different directions. Not difficult to imagine what could be if they are close to each other.
  15. I feel for you. A good term is "the freezing point". Helps me out alot to figure out "SAE" weather conditions
  16. That's a hell dance indeed. We have all in order overhere. +5 +10C November and December with snow appeared exactly 2 days before the New Year. Than about -20C during all January. That it became nearly 0C in a couple of days and stayed that way all February keeping the snow on the ground with storms from time to time. Nice winter!
  17. -18 Celsius isn't terrible. -25F in Pennsylvania makes impression though. Hard to beleve and wish you to get warmer. The math isn't an easy one. You have both to offset and proportion. I've just figured out that 80F is about 20C so far, good comfortable weather.
  18. Sounds cold to me. Don't know how much 0F is in Celsias and currently don't want to. Have 0C outside right now. Tim, hope you have a set of warm clothes in your vehicle for some reason. And stock of food, matches and firewood
  19. Paul, thank you for sharing, that's pretty interesting. From the pictures I can see the conversion was deeper as only re-cabbing. All NR's originally rode on the spoke hubs and those two have Budds. Neither of the original fuel tanks there as well. From the pictures I wouldn't determine those trucks as NR's at all but I don't doubt your info sources. Didn't know your neighbours used to grow up iron woods Have never seen it myself, anything you can cut here floats.
  20. Wonder what that bridge was made of? Difficult to trust but it doesn't look as solid concrete.
  21. Thank you for the answer. It's just a usual thing when you used to think you knew everything on a subject and at some point something almost new shows up.
