  1. Thinking about keeping the AD-IP rather than spend more money for another dryer. The factory location is on the inside left frame rail behind the fuel tank. The air compressor is on the right side of the engine and the primary tank is on the right also. Will I create problems if the dryer is mounted on the right side perhaps behind the right fuel tank? The lines would be shorter. I read in the Mack Air Brake Manual that lines too short will cause excess moisture. TIA for your input.
  2. There are sites I visited and cannot copy a pic. If someone has an internet site with pics, secure the site so pics cannot be copied.
  3. and then tell him the quality of the photo does not meet our standards. [pic of Mack truck goes here]
  4. EPA does not like glider kits and has likely "outlawed" them....new chassis/cab.....older emissions cert engine (that is period correct for the VIN).
  5. I liked the wimmin (exspt LuLu, Minnie, and Mrs. Grandpa Jones)!
  6. Sell the camper and use the monies to get a real hotel room.
  7. Maybe we need to change our replies to "we like pics but don't post them - make a sketch and post it!"
  8. Always wondered about the name Emeryville. Is Emeryville where the cab or truck were manufactured?
  9. Maybe GreenDash's truck is in this group!
  10. THANKS Barry for the info and all that you do to moderate this site. As for my pics from truck shows, all I ask is credit for the photos (which you have done). Other "personal" pics that I have taken and posted have my watermark on them. Let's hope Hank's sees the value in allowing pics to be posted on BMT.
  11. Jake, Good decision to buy the R. As for the modifications...my thought is as long as you don't "butcher" it. That is use Mack components, parts, etc. and if you ever sell it the future owner can put if back to "original specs". Good luck!
  12. Try Adelman's in Canton, OH. www.adelmans.com
  13. My MH has spring rear suspension. I mostly bobtail, when I go over a bridge strip the back end will skip and sometimes go slightly sideways. It can get intense if the highway is wet. Also, sometimes it will jump out of gear. You either hold tight to the shift lever or get your hand out of the way. The shifter goes spastic! Thank God for air ride seats. I am looking for an air ride suspension trailer and plan to build "living" quarters over the fifth wheel. I hope the added weight of the trailer will "smooth" the ride.
  14. Welcome to BMT. Some info in this thread... http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/29523-insurance-wanted/
  15. Mack was working on a 6 cylinder version of the E9. There is a prototype on display at the museum.
  16. Dang, just when I left to "water a tree"! And she is wearing hose too!!!
  17. How soon I forget. The memory is the first thing to go...I can't remember what is next!
  18. Nice pics of the Hendricksons everyone! Looks like they were one of the first with a "set back" front axle.
  19. Thanks 2stack for some explanation...but why the shorter fenders?
  20. You forgot to have Jo stand in front of the Ford 9000.
  21. David - true words. I previously mentioned that a good friend of mine works at Hagerstown Powetrain and told me they did not have enough money to develop a new engine (prior to V). Hence they "bandaided" the E7 with EGR, etc. Not the most popular and reliable engine. When I worked at Mack in the mid-80s they were on their "last leg" then. I took some pics of new company Superliners in 1986 and everyone kiddingly said, "these will be the last Macks". Glad we were all wrong. Also, the MH was the best COE truck made but it was also the MOST expensive. The MH was not price competitive at the time. Too bad we can't turn back the hands of time and do things differently. Do I like what is happening today to the USA and home grown companies and products?...NO! I just hope the MACK brand and integrity survives. P.S. And I hope they continue to support the legacy iron.
  22. I can't find the dimensions but my MH is just under 12' to top of exhaust. I guestimate the cab roof to be about 132" tall.
