  1. Seeing photos and discussion has me wondering... Did most of the Hayward built Macks stay on the west coast or western US? Or were most of them transported east? If they stayed in the western US...perhaps we need to send a "search and rescue" group west to look for survivors? What is the last year a western R was built? BTW, enjoy looking at all the pics posted on BMT but especially like the western R and single axle R (and of course any cabover).
  2. Nice sled Vinny but be careful. I was a snowmobile enthusiast many years ago when I lived in Illinois. Ran Artic Cat Panteras. That is until "lack of snow" during the winter months. The bad thing about snowmobiling is you need SNOW! I am not a fan of water skipping and grass drags.
  3. Hmmmm, maybe he knows something we do not know.
  4. I get upset when I see all these Macks being exported. The exporters and people who sell to them are just out to make a quick dollar! (and these trucks typically go to third world countries that beat the livin' $hit out of them). This drives the prices up and makes it more expensive to purchase a truck (collector or user). If nothing else, these trucks are a good source of parts for restorations or to keep other old Macks on the road working for a living. My mini-rant of the day.
  5. Are your straps stud and pin? You should be able to get stainless from Mack. Contact Barry. Iowa 80 and 4 State Trucks handle straps. All you need is the tank diameter or length and width of the strap. I found this site that refences Mack part numbers: http://www.thetruckpeople.com/t-pcMack-Tanks-Straps.aspx The SS stud/pin strap for my 84 gallon tanks is 8MB 340BM4 (1500mm / 60" long). I will have to check the diameter.
  6. I know Talon's VP of Maintenance and they have a good maintenance program. Talon has a number of older "blue" trucks still running. The newer trucks are red. The Butler terminal is running a bunch of natural gas powered trucks.
  7. Mack was in the process of converting from 2V to 4V around 1986. Most likely your E6 is a 4V. Post a pic of the engine.
  8. Yes, nice pictures Vlad. Interesting architecture.
  9. I haven't seen OD on here this week. He must be on a secret mission or got abducted by one of those wimmin hitchhikers. I miss the "Pictures of the Week".
  10. Saw the article about the 7yo in NYC. If mama needed it for work...why did the 7yo have it? As has been said...criminals will still be able to get guns and most if not all of these "incidents" have been in "gun free" zones and by mentally derranged people. Laws seem to protect the "guilty" and not the law abiding citizens. No one in the government wants to address the real issues. It is POLITICS and VOTES. Guns do not kill people...people kill people whether it is a gun, vehicle, or pushing someone in front of a train.
  11. At least it is a step in the right direction...coulda been a fruitliner or neverstar. Maybe next time you will get the "REAL THING"!
  12. That is definitely an ex-Martin's Pastry truck. It looks like an early model - MACK mirrors and rounded foot steps. Early 60s Dodge....looks like the one on Lassie (only stepside).
  13. I bought a used adapter. Still need to see if I can get the thermostat housing hole unplugged. If so, then all I need is the line. However if someone has a used thermostat housing in good condition with the hole open, send me a note.
  14. Welcome to BMT Dominick! Enjoy the ride.
  15. There will likely be something in the air at my house later tonight.
  16. Two (2) bowls for dinner with cheddar cheese and crackers....mmmm good!
  17. If you had your phone WITH A CAMERA IN IT....where is the pic???
  18. Great pics! Thanks for posting.
  19. Must be something in the air....I got the urge to make chili. This is my first attempt but I think it is smelling and tasting goooood! It has lots of meat, onions, sauce, and some beans. I added the "secret" ingredient from OD before I took the pic. I am letting it simmer in the crockpot until tonight. Looking forward to a hot bowl with grated cheddar cheese and some crackers. Yum! Wish I had a good lookin' woomin to serve the chili!
  20. Hmmmm...nice truck!
  21. Is that another name for a "quickie"?
  22. Happy Birthday! Welcome to the "60 and Over Club"! And let me tell you it does not get any better and the slope just gets steeper!
