  1. Yep, I agree!
  2. I go for the fried pickles....and the view!
  3. But they are likely being "told" what to do by upper management. Then there is David McK...he will keep them on the straight and narrow.
  4. You mean they sell hamburgers?
  5. The Hooters Motorboat team!
  6. Welcome to BMT and congrats on your purchase. Post some pics when you get a chance. We love pics! I prefer OE filters. The coolant filter (if it has one) is usually mounted on the thermostat housing. I doubt it was originally built with a coolant filter but not a bad idea to add one. Engine oil - 15W-40 (my preference is Shell Rotella T) but any major brand with API CJ-4 will work. Allison recommends their branded fluid. Rear axle fluid - full synthetic (75W-90?).
  7. Hooter girls...I'd recognize those butts and legs anywhere!
  8. Nice truck and GF. Good work JB! A pretty girl in skimpy outfit reclining on the hood of a Mack truck would be better.
  9. Nice looking B, like the green. Agree about the $$$$.
  10. Randy - you should appreciate tracks!
  11. Preference is Garmin. But I tell others...sometimes you have to use the PNS and know where you are going. Otherwise the "bitch in the box" will get you lost. Oh and I hate "recalculating"!
  12. Nice looking trucks. Dumb question (to the novice truck identifier)...Why the difference in the front fenders? Both trucks look the same for front axle placement and hood/radiator. But the top truck has short fenders and the bottom long fenders. Reason? Thanks for the edumencation!
  13. Yep, that be it! I will if I ever get it running again. Pony engine carb being rebuilt (a second time). On my long list of "stuff I need to do but too lazy to do".
  14. Leslie...nice vids. My JD 730 tractor has a 4cyl. pony starting engine. Start the pony engine, pull decompession lever, engage pony to main engine, let it build oil pressure, close decompession lever, let the main engine turn over a few times, give the main engine fuel, and off you go. Sounds similar to the vids except...PUTT PUTT PUTT...
  15. I agree but like the paint colors.
  16. It appears the fender top has been raised. Compare the wheel opening to top of fender (it looks greater) and the grille looks taller. The top of the grille looks in the same position on the cab so the cab has not been modified. The big a$$ bumper makes it look taller too.
  17. Thanks for the note. My stuff is from the 70s and 80s.
  18. I enjoy seeing pics of the vintage CAT machines. Although I worked for the "yellow father" I never acquired an interest in collecting/restoring a CAT machine. I spent most of my time developing on-highway truck engines. Perhaps that is why I prefer trucks. Part of the new hire program at CAT was spending two (2) weeks at the Peoria Proving Grounds playing working with all the equipment. My favorites were the tandem scraper and 977 traxcavator. The motorgrader was fun but too complicated for me. I remember a guy buried a D8 to the top of the tracks. It took two (2) D9s to get it out. BTW, I have a bunch of parts books from when I worked at CAT (buried somewhere in the basement). Is there a market for them and where would I advertise them (other than fleabay)?
  19. If you tilted the cab, the truck would fall on its face.
  20. I echo everyone's comments, good you found your parts but too bad is was family. Your grandson needs to learn a lesson as harsh as it may be.
  21. Prefer stock or OE upgrades.
  22. Both the Bulldog and bracket are missing. Funky clearance lights. Turn signals are not correct (look like single bulb). Can't find the CL listing either.
  23. The 4320 is my favorite tractor. I always liked the "new generation" styling. The 4320 is turbocharged and sounds great. The synchro smash was the only transmission offered in the 4320. $3000 is a good price but can easily add up with all the needed repairs. My philosophy is "pay a little more and get a nice vehicle that does not need alot of work." You can find decent ones for ~$9000. On my "want" list is a nice original 1971-72 4020 synchro. I would like to find a standard (wheatland) version with the big rounded fenders.
  24. If you have the serial number...send it to the Mack museum. They will tell you how it left the factory.
