  1. I'm old enough to take the truck and follow her to where she took the beer. . .
  2. Coming from Va with my Ram 5500 with a camper slid in and a borrowed 25' enclosed trailer trying to leave Wednesday early am. Camping at the event starting Thursday noon. Plan on leaving to return to Va on Tuesday with a stop over to see Ohio George. I am not please with time and speed limitations imposed by the people running the event. 9.50 and 135 for all vintage gassers, 150 for vintage FED's and Funnies. With 278 pounds gone I can get into the very low 9's. Mostly glass and rubber gaskets but 32 pounds on the steering column alone. Didn't think it weighed that much. Car scaled in at 2357 with 5 gallons of methanhol in it. Going to get the name lettered up Friday in Silver leaf "Lazy Bitch 2". That's what my wife christened it as years ago.
  3. Well, you will see the flaws but most of us, myself included will just walk around it drooling on our selves. Paul

    So True

Gee, I was lucky my wife used to point them out to me and even asked if some were for sale. Guess she figured it was a lot safer than going out with the boys.
  5. The 23rd is opening day and first of the nostalgia fuelers running and altereds, Sat the 24th is nostalgia supercharged gassers and funnies. Three nostalgia gasser groups there and Geezer Gassers wants the blown cars limited to 9.5 /135. hope the Eastern and Southern assoc's don't let that happen. I'll get bumped because I won't pedal, it all out for my cars
  6. How's the engine doing?? I'm leaving in the early morning on the 20th for Rocknrace at your home track. Send you my road phone number during the week. When Fedex and and UPS deliver on Monday and Wednesday the major thrash starts. Finihed this morning up grading fuel system to 1.312 i.d. lines and fittings and a 1200 gpa pump. Ordered an Ididit Prolite steering column 5.8 pounds instead of the 27+ pound OEM one. Replacement set of every piece of glass in th55 hardtop with Armortech lexan, shaves 105 + pounds off, and my rocker cover check valves and puke tank so I can finish my pulse Evac system. pick up a few h.p. but I'll rev up about 10 to 15% quicker. The pulse system uses the header primary tubes to pull 10 to14 inches of vacuum in the crankcase to cut rotary resistance. Should all things combined kick close to .5 off my et and get around a bit over 140 through the lights. Like to see low 9's to high 8's and top as close to 145 as possible sine total weight should be really close to 2340lbs. Not to shabby for a 55 Bel Air hardtop. She's it's been a gasser since pop built it into a D/Gasser in 1962 and I converted into a MP car in 1969 it's has a long hard career. I'm hanging it up as a race car at the end of 2020. That will make 51 years I've raced that car. .
  7. 1936 to 1940 Civilian and to 1942 Military on the Blue Chevrolet. 1940 to 1947 on the Ford COE, the one on the left next to it is a 1941 1942 F series 3/4 or 1 ton pick up because of the vented hood sides and stand alone headlights were 1941 /42 only styling changes
  8. Here is hi, his Pinto and his hauler "Big Orange" at Riverhead Raceway a zillion years ago.
  9. Nice old wrecker! deserves to live out its retirement with a nice suit on, not patina
  10. Where our farm is in Riverhead Long Island the local code enforcement now uses drones to find violations. I have none. . . yet, but a few years ago my neighbor rototilled a design for the drones, apparently it will never go away til they plow and replant a large section.
  11. With a rather rare Orrville sleeper cab.
  12. That's the link I was looking for! Used his parts on a Bruder conversion.
  13. This is mine on my property that I took 7 or 8 years ago, posted it here in the Marmon thread a couple of years ago and got a nasty response from a H. Suderman from the H truck site that I used the photo I took with out their permission. .
  14. Treat the torsion bars with respect and a bit of lube on the hex ends. Our old farm truck broke one and I adapted a pair of 1976 El Dorado units into it.
  15. I'd like to find COE all I have is 3 lousy conventionals
  16. You should watch the CNN tirade on how white plastic "skin" on robots is racist. White robots are a sign of dominance over minorities. https://twitter.com/cnn/status/1156916257834381312 (CNN)Have you ever noticed the popularity of white robots? You see them in films like Will Smith's "I, Robot" and Eve from "Wall-E." Real-life examples include Honda's Asimo, UBTECH's Walker, Boston Dynamics' Atlas, and even NASA's Valkyrie robot. All made of shiny white material. And some real-life humanoid robots are modeled after white celebrities, such as Audrey Hepburn and Scarlett Johansson. The reason for these shades of technological white may be racism, according to new research. "Robots And Racism," a study conducted by the Human Interface Technology Laboratory in New Zealand (HIT Lab NZ) and published by the country's University of Canterbury, suggests people perceive physically human-like robots to have a race and therefore apply racial stereotypes to white and black robots. These colors have been found to trigger social cues that determine how humans react to and behave toward other people and also, apparently, robots. "The bias against black robots is a result of bias against African-Americans," lead researcher Christoph Bartneck explained to The Next Web. He told CNN, "It is amazing to see how people who had no prior interaction with robots show racial bias towards them." The researchers think this is an issue that needs to be addressed. "If robots are supposed to function as teachers, friends, or carers, for instance, then it will be a serious problem if all of these roles are only ever occupied by robots that are racialized as White," according to the study. The robots used in the study are clearly robots but have human-like limbs and a head, with exterior complexions that are white -- which is to say, pinkish -- or black -- really, a deep brown. In the "shooter bias" test, black and white people and robots appeared on a screen for less than a second, and participants were told to "shoot" those holding a weapon. Black robots that were not holding weapons were shot more than the white ones not carrying guns. Run a simple Google Image search on the term "robot." You won't see a lot of color, as pointed out in the study. The researchers see this overrepresentation of white robots as potentially harmful to the perception of other races. Robot designers come from all corners of the world, Bartneck pointed out, yet they still idealize white robots. "Human-shaped robots should represent the diversity of humans," Bartneck told The Next Web. "Imagine a world in which all Barbie dolls are white. Imagine a world in which all the robots working in Africa or India are white. Further imagine that these robots take over roles that involve authority. Clearly, this would raise concerns about imperialism and white supremacy," Bartneck told CNN. "Robots are not just machines, but they represent humans." In a second study, the HIT Lab NZ team added lighter brown robots, finding that as they increased the racial diversity, participants' racial bias toward the robots disappeared altogether. This "potentially means that diversification of robots might lead to a reduction in racial bias towards them," according to that study. "This leads me to believe that we have everything to win by offering racial options and nothing to lose," Bartneck told CNN. "In the same way that we do want Barbie dolls in all colors and shapes, we also want robots in more than just white."
  17. That twin master is brake on right clutch on left C30 to C60 ran that set up until 1965. Should of looked at pics closer, fuel pump and dist are on wrong side for 292. Still have the torsion bar front suspension?
  18. The cab parts are the same as the pick up cab, difference is the running boards and the front fender wheel openings are larger all else it interchangeable . GM ran that brake system up to at least the mid to late 70's maybe later. Standard shoe size and bores on the wheel cylinders, lines are off shelf item. The only issue there may be is getting the kit for the combination Brake/Clutch master. Ignition I would go to electronic after getting all else sorted out. You can get a direct drop in HEI distributor from Napa or maybe even Rock Auto since the engine was produced until 1990.Just be sure it is for a 292. Try to find points and condenser on the road some where. Electronic is worry free basically. Here is specs for your engine. 165 gross-horsepower at 3,800 rpm and maximum torque of 280 pound-feet at 1,600 rpm
  19. Torque drops off at higher RPM primarily from intake and exhaust flow restriction. Volumetric Efficiency declines because the engine can't breathe any faster. Efficiency also declines at higher RPMs, due to increased frictional resistance.
  20. Like a quadriplegic mime, our old Jimmy is
  21. It's the 1959 style cab that was used on the C30 and larger trucks until 1967and LMC Truck has all the rubber and weather seal parts and most likely wiper parts also, blades are standard sizes. 292 is a good engine ample power and parts are available through Napa and most other stores, Napa would have brake parts also as they are standard Bendix. Gas mileage is decent with the 2 speed rear but also depends how you drive it You also can update the ignition to HEI since the 292 made it into the 1980s. Parts for the 2 speed shift unit are available but right now I don't have access to my ''go to'' files. Paul
  22. Coming home hurt worse! My wife was in Florida with her mom for a wedding and she specifically said to me: "DON'T RACE THE F'in Bike" before she left. Had the new one planned out before I left the hospital. :)
  23. The LIRR had 2 or 3 with big Cat powered generators at their repair yard in Jamaica for years. I believe one is at the LIRR Museum in Riverhead near the Riverhead Station. Also Jamaica Ash had a bunch for city b dumpster work. Paul
  24. Want to get confused? listen to the kids who talk like they text with all the slang they use in the smartphone. Like listening to a drunk mime with Alzheimers
  25. Let's see, high tech surveillance, facial recognition, retina and finger print I.D. and now N.Y.'s Schumer is pushing to ament the 1st amendment to control and limit political free speech that is not Federally approved (he's been trying since 2014). One would think the citizens not to be trusted. https://www.cnsnews.com/commentary/terence-p-jeffrey/schumer-calls-amending-first-amendment-limit-political-speech From 2014 bill to protect Hillary from bad press. https://nypost.com/2014/05/07/chucking-the-first-amendment-schumers-cranky-scheme/
