for clarification , it's not the tensioners broke but the recoil springs. wondered how the chains were so tight if tensioners were failed. memory serves me correct the chains on that machine are adjusted by the "wish bone " (not twinkie) being pushed out with a grease gun on front idler.. when written tensioners were broke I mistook it to be the seals on adjusters leaking past resulting in constant loose chains. knowing history/ reason for sale helps , not being sold due to internal problem.

outta likes agree 100% with tjc . great machines . built better then new stuff. part-time use with you being user can make machine last yrs. parts needed ????

that's exactly the machine i would want for the 12 acres we live on (rent) 450/ 555 with 4in 1 bucket rear backhoe. how are the tensioners modified if they are broken . must have high hrs based on pads are down. like the JD 1450 I did clutch on , parts unavailable is definitely a challenge today. 12 K for a yard flower pot if something breaks that can't be repaired. at least it wasn't given a fluff and buff paint job to hide stuff.

why was it everyone back then spoke so positive of the "golden years". can't prove it by me now that I'm there. never had much dealing with auto transmissions (can't say trans anymore ) in class 8 units. thinking back to the paving days with clutches ; manual transmissions may be out. knees go to double size with just excessive walking/ yard work now.

close look at the wrecker there looks like it could be cables raising the wreck.

from what I'm seeing when passing big rigs is the fear all the highway signs will be getting changed to a different language sooner than expected. also seeing how the "professional drivers" are getting worse then 4 wheelers.. too many cross 2 =3 lanes to exit highway as they pass the exit with obviously no regards to anyone on the highway with them. bring back the days of manual transmissions AND ALSO road maps NOT telephones telling when to turn. felt bad after 50 yrs of having a CDL day I gave it up, now maybe it was a good move.

one fine looking work shop ; couldn't think of a better unit to have in side it ;;; well maybe a steel nose DM 800 .

careful on the cement mixing; I'm sure you wear your back brace!! don't want to spend your latter yrs retired and in therapy like "some of us " . which four -legged friend gets to put foot prints in fresh cement.??

never had any dealing with this set up, challenging to see all the positives // lighter / better performance / etc. basically they are the best thing since sliced bread.. maybe that's where all the recycled cans have been going. 50 yrs ago i wouldn't have understood a suspension carrying 8oK that consisted of air bags and not 58K steel springs either, -
feel real bad now;; no more available likes and worse no shop any more to show pictures of. 😠 use to have a 30x 50 with walk in access to two 45 ' trailers side by side 16ft wide door 12 ' 10high . sure miss the good days .

1- thanks for the under chassis pictures for us model builders LOL. #2= maybe it's the mud cover ; I can't make out the brand of truck= one pic the front looks to be Mack, fenders/ rest don't. 3--any up date pictures of unit out of mud ??

don't know where location is but I like it . my theory is if you can see neighbors house they're tooo close . wouldn't want to call road service .

don't feel bad Hans , replaced many through the years didn't know the twinkie relationship either -
have been studying the pictures for a while , still don't understand how it happened;; NO major dirt disruption before roll over. one question being ::: this unit is a left hand drive ? must be if driver seat buried ! traffic may have covered the truck tire tread as it crossed the road. super HD 349/ D8 should do the job, hopefully without more major damage. be interesting to watch the removal.

I may be wrong (again) ; the compressor capable of mounting PS pump has a slot in "crankshaft " end to which the PS coupler bolts to? one allen bolt holds coupler to crank? seems I some what remember there is a tiny oil port in crank/ coupler combo; ?? PS pump shaft 5/8-3/4 splined. -
another example of "cost cutting" seems. :: like buying box of brake shoes and hardware kits are separate. now your saying the oil filter -luberfiner doesn't come with an o-ring.. possibly due to fact the one filter has a number of applications having different canisters ===I hope .!

news today most of the Clydesdale events cancelled due to strong protest. do you think the he/she will get paid still; or the bonus checks to bud CEO's. == of course both will. sad. anheuser will write off the losses on taxes any how . poor stockholders trying to make a couple bucks will be the ones loosing.

my honey dew list always has same come back answer!== yep it's on the list ; working on getting to it. I receive the same look of disgust and she walks away. another moment of silence comes in the morning while having coffee; "what are you doing today"? my reply = having coffee.

If it was considered an honor /respected to be a sports star ' actor or whatever and have your picture on a box of cereal years back , why has it become degrading based on color to be on a product= rice/ syrup / butter?? common sense lost .

It's not that they have spare time ; difference is most of us are more intelligent with the ability to use the time we have in better/ productive ways. resulting in less time .
