mixed bag of precep in CT. depends on location. I used the leave blower to clean 1 1/2 in snow on 20x 40 driveway. not enough for snowblower and due to certain circumstances ; I don't shovel snow any more.

ripped threads out of return nut ?? puller doesn't (or didn't) fasten to small 3/8th return line fitting. older style the barrel cap ( which return fitting screwed into) is removed ; puller threads on to injector = 3/4 ??? fine thread. pry bar rock back forth was used many times. if you are daring ;LOL loosen the two hold down nuts = do not remove completely!! spin engine over = but stand back!!! realize on an engine on stand or not running this method not possible,, but it works. don't forget the brass washer at bottom. larger flat screwdriver usually did the trick of removal. never did much "send them out" back in the day. Mack had the parts and the tester to build/ set up injectors.

sad part is no one questions the statement "a deal has been reached " ; the deal is billions of dollars pocketed by those making deals. typical Monty Hall "let's make a deal " otherwise known as What's in it for Me!!

take three 5/8th flat washers , braze them together to form a V pattern ; results are one hold down set up will secure two liners. less stuff fumbling around on top of block. DD need the hold-downs ; wet liners.

now if you had a Mack model to build; the "brain wash " TV wouldn't be an option from boredom.

memory correct , the aliment tool for oil squirters is a welding rod (no flux) and square piece of clear plexiglass having circular groove cut in to it size of piston liner; within the grooved circle are two smaller circles. when plexiglass is placed on liner the welding rod should be centered to one of the smaller circles. reason for two smaller circles the squirters are front of piston on some cylinders. back on others. lowering pistons with squirters installed a real P I T A. corner cutting :::: when pistons in ; install the oilers then put welding rod in check aim. not rocket science as they say.

might find it easier to take right size pipe ; cut in half or what ever depending on desired look then weld into channel ; weld/ grind to appear as one piece. have time and patience; weld the pipe to back side of channel THEN slice top channel , bend around the pipe. will have one bent form on front with welding/ grinding on top/ bottom flange. looks excellent as is also.

alignment tool ??? when in doubt , take a welding rod with flux removed and place in the end of squirter to get a visual idea of squirt location. should be under piston , lubing wrist pin on down stroke.

liquid glue much better ; less mess . black interior !!!! LOL no no:: green or brown depending on year you want it to be representing. Old style dash ---- green ,LOL

is that the teddy Tietz from woodbury area ?? didn't know he ran tractors of that vintage, nice truck.

had to be early '70's ; rules/regs changed for more state income. short wheel based 10 wheelers were getting third axles with baby wheels shoved between front tandem and battery box/ fuel tanks, side by side battery boxes were jammed one on top of each other to make room.

other states (most) are much larger the CT carry more -go further. ct you can't turn a pick up truck around ; I know yes you can. here it's all about more revenue for state.

drawing a blank on brown being new England fleet. by '80's Mack was loosing ground for majority fleet truck. the KW cabover appeared more. Baskin had 5 KW's .

the "sister" company was Darcey; old age kicked in again around 2 am this morning wake up thinking : it is Darcy . there were whites in the fleet also. possibly the owner had two daughters/wife -daughter named Vallerie and Darcey.

started out looking at 1/25 resin trucks; ended up on site of trucks of old. found many east coast fleets not only forgot about. but recalled working on some. question now is there was a freight outfit Vallerie having Mack/ Reo's. they were a light brown/beige color. there was also a sister company having same color == what was the name ?

not sure if I qualified for being part of "the handful"; my grandfather started with horse and wagon hauling his milk to next town back in the 20's/30's.

I had three DM 800 models in the display case at Mack trucks waterbury ct.I left there in'75. still have the mixer made for local concrete co. tag axle made of 4 car air cleaners painted flat black.

take a vote on BMT ; ask the retired ones (myself included) that ask "why did I retire?" !!! were did this :honey do list :come from.LOL. I drive almost daily 25 miles each way to help a friend with his fleet ;; not for pay but to get far from the honey do list!! the body will slow down , the list doesn't seem to.

haven't bought since ' 85. wait till you see how even the scale models have cheapened up. early old Mack DM model VS a newer one has big difference ; not all parts will easily interchange. have an early 600 which has a different hood/cab shape then a newer one. my '70's DM800 (red/white/ blue paint) with a stretched axle having the pete wrecker body still sits waiting for completion.

I also have some items with Doug Compton's name on them. found a picture taken some years back of "the fleet"; have the first edition/version of the pete 352 cab over which I stretched the frame made what at the time was a common drome box having bed/toilet/ sink /closet. blue with white/ black stripes. it's in not the best shape after 50 yrs (?) , must have come out mid "70"s. also wife just left so there is piece and quite here. might go dig out some boxes.

model looking real good. mine is still in the box with the "fleet" of acquired Macks from AITM and Jim Etter's A I M . temptation is to go open the box! have three projects on the bench now which are taking too long, best I don't look at the resin. can't get this pictures to forum figured yet or I would post the resin Garage and others.

do you plan on changing the dogs in the flywheel ? not sure if they are still available. have taken them out and turned them 180. usually one side is worn. P I A to reset them square. the new centerplate works as a tool for getting a smooth slide.
