  1. 20-30 yrs from now do you think an "engine" will still be using oil ? have to wonder how far this "save the planet " will actually go. glad I won't be around.
  2. picture #2 showing roto chamber also show a hefty driveshaft , TRANSMISSION (not falling for that trans stuff again), not having a parking brake drum on output shaft ,what appears to be tri shaft maxi TRANSMISSION . picture showing the red parking brake button has partial decal on heater box cover looks to say maxidyne diesel engine. vin number will explain much
  3. title calls it an R-350. thought was an R-400 ; would put it in the hyd brake class ??. picture looks to be a twin -screw. red button may not be a miss place if it is set up for trailer towing?? interesting to find out what rear drive brakes are ;; hyd/air. would help explain the conversion roto chamber for air to trailer brakes. all goes well , BMT will have follow ups and great to have complete door/ frame serial number.
  4. apologize for incorrect info ;; B-20 lighter drive train ; smaller wheels size (in some instances) possibly work better for this application.
  5. call it another change in times;; back when if a line was needed = simple step to go in parts room grab roll of correct size aero=quipt hose; cut to length , bevel ends on grinder = clean out hose , screw ends on using caution NOT to cut inner lining with fitting. plenty of oil/ grease and straight shot fitting to hose. have seen internal hose lining cut installing fitting, never this modern day "have to order" = different today.
  6. can't wait till that topic gets posted and BMT crew can vote on who has the best mobile smoker/cooking set up on a big rig. LMAO . big question now is will the classification be done on GVW 🤣🤣or smoker capacity😂
  7. grandson (16or 17 ???) had a small birthday get together last week . wife asked what he wanted for food ; he says rain bow Sherbert ;;; now who the h-ll would have ever given thought to something that innocent. I like Sherbert ice cream = always have. the rainbow flavor ice has been there for yrs. and NO there isn't anything different from my grandson; he like that ice cream. so different today
  8. bet the '48 will maneuver a lot better in parking lot then the DM600. LOL!!!! BUT the DM600 with flat bed can carry it's own smoker and grill with room for umbrella and chairs to a sports event. 🤣
  9. many yrs back my '77 F-350 dual wheel truck was showing signs of age and rust. a local road sealing co had small short nose Brockway used for back up emergency. flipped the idea of a cab swap. would have made sharp looking dual wheel flat bed Brockway. like rest of my life everyone else iron took preference. time went by /sold the F-350.
  10. hope there are up coming pictures explaining this new progress. removing "ugly vertical muffler / installing modified grass burner horizontal muffler. ?? what (TRUCK) body does the future hold for the DM600 that a PTO is required???? .going to be a dump/ hyd roll-off ??? . how's fiberglass nose work looking ???
  11. Mack did make a B-20 ; smaller cab . also it doesn't have to follow a pattern being a B-model Mack. the A series or E series Mack aren't usually used, think out side the box and build different. E series dual wheel pick up having updated running gear (AC/ power steering ) with twin stacks.
  12. what ever the out come; sure hope the BMT crew is kept updated. which way is chosen by you/class would depend on available Resorces. take a dual wheel pickup swap Mack cab on to it might be easier for school tech group. to take a mack chassis and swap over could be challenging for class to operate on highway. much depends on the class abilities which is a question YOU could answer better then anyone.
  13. OK ; my fault .purposely write the entire word transmission in topics instead of trans!!! such a different world LOL.too much on the brain cells when I posted the write. 🤣
  14. once again this shows how money has ruined everything. 750 mil for ten yrs to play baseball ;they don't even get dirty sliding cause it isn't real grass!!! nascar lost interest yrs ago; can't follow drag racing any more .
  15. another "give away" on engine ;;; dual intake ports off air cleaner .. one to tip turbine other to turbo. truck too new for air cleaner to have rain/ dry day control. for you" youngsters" rain/dry control was same as car recycle air control. foul weather it closed the intake pipe used air from engine compartment. air cleaner has/had two stage elements
  16. original single axle would have had different bolt pattern on spring hanger mounts . looks as it was slid back enough for front hanger to be bolted to rear bolt holes. requiring new holes for two rear hangers L/R side only.
  17. excellent observation on the original bolt holes. it had to be one rough riding tractor being such a short wheelbase twin screw.
  18. unfortunately leaving the office position for some doesn't mean they loose the control they have. not counting the present day puppet there are those ; we won't beat around the BUSH and place names of course that maintain a behind the scene control. long after leaving office.
  19. not 685 but 686= 300 tip turbine ?? in a steel nose .
  20. steel nose and bullet lights ; now that's what mechanics dreams are made of. LOL
  21. doesn't look bad at all.
  22. a question many face today . all of what Matt stated plus , personal situations such as cost to haul it , storage availability . hate to see things go to a scrap yard , can only save so much. future parts for those "down the road "projects. how often most will say = had a chance to buy --- . now wish I did .
  23. NOW YOU WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT WITH SOAP YOUNG MAN for saying those bad words on here .!!! Pete must be a truck salesman ; not sure of that K word. LOL ..B873 with quad . guess not.
  24. nope 🤣 LOL let the guessing begin . lately I take a swig (or 2/3/4/5/ )straight from the bottle == eliminate the middle man (stein) LMAO
  25. received mine today -- excellent Christmas gift ; which was my intention for the purchase .
