  1. possibly the only reason you won't see the 675/676 engines in another ten years is because the government "stepped in' to say junk all those polluting engines that don't have enough electronics on them. there's a lot of meaning behind the phrase " BUILT LIKE A MACK " if it works the government will screw it up.
  2. have to ask :::: how far did you go with the shed strapped to the trailer on what looks to be some strong 2x6's LOL gettin scared here Jojo ;; there is the forum of "YOU MIGHT BE A RED NECK IF"" !!!LMAO. 🤣🤣
  3. didn't think of the branded idea ; much better classic fit for that unit then paint.
  4. 1038 only 37 made before that one !! the possibilities it has . engine parts could be a major draw back. 864
  5. that would be an excellent acquisition for me since I'm always in the dog house around HERe . with a 10x7 I'd be in the condo house LOL
  6. only thing missing would have been full size Mack emblem painted on the boards BEFORE clear coat!! LOL
  7. 209 back then had a "nick name" ;;not a good one either ;;; darn can't remember it .ho chi min trail ????
  8. now you have to go and buy a full length rug to put down in front of and on the bed so as to eliminate any dirty tire marks on it. LOL darn nice looking unit. seeing in person day is what I'm looking forward to.
  9. similar story here except my Father left us in "97. mother stayed till 2019. brother and two sisters and I sitting in the nursing home all thinking :ok her mind is gone" mom looked up at me and says "why there you are you SOB " we never got along, I says - see she hasn't lost all of her mind !. few weeks later she left.
  10. Sorry for Your loss. yr ago I was in Maine for a friends Sons funeral. up until yesterday (mass shooting ) Maine was always a positive for me. during the funeral procession which was a long drive from Church to cemetery cars coming in opposing lane of two lane road actually pulled over and stopped out of respect. not just one car ; all of them. don't see that around here.
  11. sadly the funeral topic seems to be more frequent. Saturday was suppose to be at daughters house for her sons birthday; now it will be at a funeral for one of the Church's partitioners. He was highly involved in Church activities ; good person. I have Dr appointment friday am with hopes I can be "cleared" to drive to NC : won't make the show but see my sister and possibly other BMT members.
  12. I'm going with it's an RD ? hood line straight with drivers door; cab looks to be full size R cab though
  13. glad I'm not the only one having that question. past them other day. thought it was private company till I saw emblems on doors. all fancy like show trucks.
  14. possible to find out model of box ? sheppard/ ross ? '90 too new for me to correctly answer. in the day the boxes had a 3/4? lock nut on side adjuster had screw driver slot . big sheppard boxes had adjusters top and bottom but they were for pressure relief settings.non-adjusting power steering boxes ON occasion would improve with changing filter and fluid.
  15. that must be the I-95 cluster being done. glad I don't run 95 any more.
  16. now remember in todays screwed up world the drag or trans wording has a MUCH difference meaning. you must specific transmission not just trans; or drag race must be high speed high way driving. LOL
  17. your a bunch of sick puppies and I'm glad;; some days this forum is the only positive in life. !!LOL
  18. might not have gotten much "work" done today; BUT one of the most important to do list items were done ::: family time / stress relief . as I told one of my younger customers who works tooo many hrs :: the work will always be there family time won't.
  19. caution with the heat ::1- don't want to burn the rubber boot; 2- any grease inside the drag link may start a larger fire. have used the proper socket and a hammer. with pressure to loosen the end tap (NOT beat) the drag link ; the adjusting end is only 5/8-3/4 ? wide fine thread. penetrating oil and tapping has shown to work. the right socket on impact gun also works. just use extreme caution. groove isn't that deep on adjusting end.
  20. now I feel 🤣REAL OLD 😂. "my day "many drag links were adjustable , to the point I had two 3/4 drive drag link sockets for adjusting purposes. basically a very large flat screw driver head . a piece of flat stock and adjustable was used MANY times. for the froze adjuster the 3/4 dr socket came to play. not always just out of adjustment on the bad sloppy ones ; many times the HD spring inside the drag link breaks.
  21. right on; that's the bolts I was referring to. roll-up door repair; old age I couldn't remember where they were used. LOL
  22. now that the deck is having a number of small shorter pieces; the self tapping screw would be the way to go. large head bolts would look awkward since there will be so many fasteners. tongue and groove the pieces (heck of a lot of work) would eliminate some fasteners . at this point with boards cut and looking excellent T&G not likely. difficult to see ; even with enlarged picture , did you eliminate the chain / binder holders in front? winch underside with cable coming through rollers ?
  23. NO- bolts I'm talking of have a larger diameter head which is thinner. tightening the bolts which have the flat washer against the steel channel NOT under bolt head go close to flush with top deck boards.
  24. box truck carriage bolts fine (they are inside not exposed to elements.) that flat bed I would go the route of floor decking bolts 1/4 in which have the 3/4- 1 in flathead and flat washers / nylon nuts. few more $$ but well worth it ( my thoughts )
  25. only thing on top of my head is a bald spot.
