  1. Way to go Oshkosh. Be careful if you get too many orders or the Europeans will gobble you up.
  2. Mr. Hancock: Very insightful about the Paccar comment. Paccar shareholders are very happy.
  3. Throw a little cash to Volvo and buy out Mack.
  4. Cummins /Eaton should be a Mack option.
  5. Overall bad. While trying to increase market share over the road. They lost heavy haul, and are losing the construction and garbage business.
  6. That B81 is a keeper. Hope they don't get tempted to go Paccar.
  7. When the DM 800's first came out I thought they were ugly. Boy was I wrong.
  8. DIDN'T all H models have sleepers?
  9. I didn't realize those European Cab overs had hoods/bonnets that opened.
  10. Old iron: Sadly the E9 is gone also. The only legacy items left at Mack as I see it are the : Bulldog- the camel back suspension and design- the Mayflower cab-Granite model, Pinnacle models(CH)(CX) and legacy cab over models MR/ LE the rear end design- the manual transmissions and design Macungie and Hagerstown All of course owned by Volvo
  11. KS has the facts of Mack history on his side. Probably the only thing Volvo was interested in was the Hagerstown plant. Sad.
  12. Suitors If Volvo sold Mack who would be potential suitors? It would have to be someone with a broad distribution network and money Like Ford-GM-John Deere-Cat-Cummins-Navistar-Paccar-Fiat Chrysler-Daimler-Oshkosh Ford may not have deep enough pockets but has the distribution network GM -Deere-Cat-Cummins and Fiat have the distribution networks Navistar/VW- Diamler and Paccar may have to many competing brands What would the new Mack look like? It would have to have the Macungie plant along with legacy Mack models Granites-Anthems- Pinnacles- Cab overs- Camel backs- Mack manual transmissions and rears- (It would loose Hagerstown to Volvo)b It would have to rely on vendor suppliers such as Cummins-Eaton -Meritor-Allison_Hedrickson-Vendor chassis. new engine developments such as Achates Power All in all it could be a decent product and might reverse the decline in the present day Mack image slippage. .Suitor distribution network and deep pockets would be the key to success. If you think about it if they just dug into the freightliner market share they could turn that 5% market share into 15 %. Just some Sunday thoughts
  13. Hopefully Volvo won't screw this up like they did with the Titan.
  14. Those two engineers are going to have to be miracle workers. A new superliner with a cummins x15 option would be nice.
  15. Demoncrats will do/say anything to win.
  16. Nice Titan heavy haul. Way to not support and cancel. V@#$&/ A hoes.
  17. That's like the widest cab I have ever seen on a conventional. That cab over looks like it might have inspired the White 7000. Look at the window area.
  18. Super dog and a bride-can't beat that.
  19. ZDB 15 deg sounds about right for flat deck block with staggered cylinders.
  20. Was watching You tube today and I saw an engine block I never saw before. They had the head off of the engine and they were cleaning the cylinder combustion space with WD 40 and scotch brite pads. The cylinders were not arranged in an I6 or v6 fashion but were staggered in the same plane. Kind of like a compact version of an I6 and v6. The mechanic had a VW shirt on. Not sure if it was a VW engine. It was a real compact design.
  21. Any Anthems for storkmack?
  22. You know what belongs under the valve covers? Valve train components and nothing more.
