  1. I believe that DM was used down at the Coast Guard Academy with a dump trailer about five years ago when the new chiller plant was installed. Sounded great with the straight pipe. I think it was a 237. Black dog was that the Brooklyn Ct. show. Looks like a lot of old Mack's there. I'll have to get there next year.
  2. Would the 60 series Detroit fit in a CHU? I'll have to admit Stork mack those 567 Petes are Sharp looking classic style trucks.
  3. The Coe Scot looks sort of peterbuiltish/brockwayish. I wonder if it was the same cab manufacturer.
  4. if this is the original 673 turbo engine (205Hp) try not to push it beyond its 205 HP capabilities. I believe they just slapped a turbo on this engine without any upgrades such as piston pin cooling and bottom end upgrades. There is more info about this engine on this sight somewhere. This was a very smooth sounding diesel. Eventually this engine went to 225 Hp and 250 HP before it was eclipsed by the 237 maxidyne.
  5. I don't believe Hannaford or Hogan had Mack's before.
  6. Now that's what I call a back yard playscape.
  7. I wonder if Mack is in it?
  8. Pretty much all larger diesels such as marine propulsion and electric power production have individual cylinder heads. GE, EMD, Pielstick, Suzler, Cat, Janmar, Waukashaw, Cooper Bessemer etc. FM opposed piston engines were an exception as they had no heads. Scania followed this design in their V8. As KS states it is easier to fine tune an individual cylinder as opposed to a group of cylinders hooked up to multi ported intake and exhaust manifolds. KS also noted the maintenance advantages. Scania was wise to follow this design into the smaller engine design. I believe Scania also uses this design in some of their six cylinder designs.
  9. Are you saying that the first Scania V8 was a Mack engine? Interesting.
  10. Must have been about the same time frame as the E9.
  11. Autocar has a chance find out, Hopefully they don't blow it.
  12. As they say there is no such thing as a dumb question. Do they make left hand drive Mack's in Aussie land?
  13. Navistar (You short sighted board of director jerks) you have opened up a can of woop ass and VW is going to woop your behind. RIP American-owned Navistar.
  14. Hard for me to say but those Petes look nice.
  15. Why buy a Cl when you can buy custom built Australian Superliners,Tridents and Titans.
  16. That may be correct. They are probably to busy stuffing this combo into Volvo's as Mack flounders at 5%
  17. Would love to have that B75. Those must have been 30,000 lb rears.
  18. You would think Anthems would be all over the place with these numbers. Took a trip to NH this weekend from CT. Saw may bee 4 Anthems. Very few CH Pinnacles. Lots of Granites.Saw more new Western Stars than Macks. What is up with ABF and UPS. No Anthems. ABF swithed to KW, And UPS to KW,Shaker and IH. Those new UPS shakers look like they can be bought at bargain discounts
  19. Like them all. Well cared for. Working?
  20. Nice looking COE's. Would make a nice replacement for the MR. I wonder if that's in the works. It should be. The fourth one from the right looks a little MRish.
  21. Looks like its missing a few parts.🙂
  22. The white DM and RD dumps look a tad overloaded. That B mixer needs a restore.
  23. Those last two look like fly ash haulers.
  24. Volvo pull out of NA and sell Mack to Cummins, Hendrickson, Oskosh, Deere or Cat.
  25. What are the differences between the R/RD 685's/686's/688's and 690's
