  2. Same as colors as Butler Macks from Connecticut. Don't think the Butlers are 65'000's. Should have good resale value like the RD 800's. Then again they were all pre EPA.

  4. Better to pay a little extra than miss out on what you want. Same goes for ebay when they say buy it now. If its perfect for your needs then buy it now and the heck with the auction.. I guess theoretically the auction could be higher than the buy it now price.
  5. I guess I'm getting blind on top of deef. I was trying to stop the video but couldn't control the technology. Don't know why they don't have a front discharge mixer. I guess it wouldn't fit on a V_____ chassis.. Don't know why they don't try putting one on a Mack low forward chassis.
  6. Saw a video on you tube about the world of concrete show. I think they were doing a walk around of the Mack MHD. In the background there was a yellow mixer with Mack in black letters on the drum. Funny thing was the mixer was a front loader. Anybody know any thing about this.
  7. How many people are on the watts Webb site? Let's say 1000. Then. 1000x100=100,000. Let's say10,000 then 10,000x100=1,000,000. Seems like we run out of enough members pretty quickly. Additionally Volvo would have to put it up for sale. What would the new mack use for components. Engine _Cummins Transmissions-mack-Eaton-Allison ,suspensions-camel back-hendrickson, rears-mediator-Eaton. Not much different than the. Competition. At least they would have their own independent engineering section.
  8. I was at tractor supply on Saturday and I picked up a copy of wheels of time. The feature article was a real nice spread on Hendrickson. Gave a real good description of the company history. One interesting note was that surprisingly the last Hendrickson truck sold was a 2010 model VT. It looked like similar to the HME. I guess they finally went under because they just couldn't build a good plastic truck as they were steeped in the steel tradition.
  9. Yes sir BCR. I remember mostly twin screw Hendricksons for Crystal Lake. They were cummins powered for the most part with one Harnischfegger that you could distinctly hear its 2 cycle sound. That was back in the days when you could tell all of the power plants by there distinctive sounds. 6-71's /from NH cummins/ from Mack 673's /from IH red diamonds /from white flat head gasers /from Mack gasers. The White flatheads were really cool sounding (real deep roar). You could tell the difference between the NA 673's and the turbo 205's. These engines you could hear from miles away. Not so anymore with the plane Jane (Sorry Jane) white cookie cutters on the roads today. Those were the days when there pretty much weren't any white trucks but plenty White Motor Corporation trucks. But I digress from Hendrickson. If I am not mistaken Hendricksons were as plentiful as IH White and A-Car. Mack was king in Chicago land though. Paccar was non existant at that time.
  10. There was a movie made once in nyc I believe with loads of B model dumps and A-Cars. Then there was that stupid movie with all of the trucks circling the gas station. That may have been the one with the nice cinnamon colored B-61 that went over the cliff. Shamefull.

  12. Are'nt the rear axles on Macks made by meritor? What about the suspensions?
  13. I believe westport axle supplies chasis for Mack and Volvo trucks. Well as of 2 hours ago the Brazilian Holding Company was sold to Universal Truck Load Services located in Michigan. Should have kept the operation under LLC in Pa. Not sure what this will mean for Mack if anything.
  14. Looked at Bing maps and both buildings for plant 4 and 5C seem to still be there. Looks like they have had a cosmetic makeover. Not sure what they are used for now. One looks like it has a huge array of solar power on the roof.
  15. I probably should have put this in the antique classic section. From the looks of that Bus brochure those factories seemed to be immence.

  18. Allentown plant 5C is mentioned from time to time on this site. How many plants were in Allentown. How close were they to each other. What was produced in each plant, What was produced in the New Jersey plants. How big were the plants in comparison to Macungie and Maryland plants

  20. Those McClure Macks are ex Rawson trucks. Rawson has gone to KW unfortunately.
