  1. Smallest sleeper I've ever seen! Ironic that it's on the back of an R model similar to the one I used to put a soda case between the seats and sleep in! I would have appreciated that narrow bunk! At 6'2" 165 # I would have fit...barely😁
  2. That Diamond T somewhat resembles the legendary B C Fry's truck but it was totalled on the Oh Indiana line in the late 50s! Lotta cool equipment at that show! The ACO "binder" is kinda neat, I've always liked off the wall trucks! I've only seen a couple of them when they were on the road!
  3. One would assume that for the sake of simplicity,if you bought three new road tractors or one piece of heavy equipment you could write them or it off the first year! But you would presumably lose the standard three or five year write off, since I doubt they would give you both! Interesting! I've always thought the concept of a flat tax on all income seemed fair, but corporate America would never go for that! I heard that Gulf oil in the early sixties paid 500.00 dollars in taxes!
  4. Ksb, I am not qualified to question Mr Drydene's opinion (I remember his name, thought he only made additives!), but I have never had a gasoline engine fail while using Rotella T and have found the lifters and valve train of every Rotella equipped engine to be spotless! That however may be the result of the harsh additives Mr Drydene mentioned!
  5. Ksb, I have no knowledge of its mechanicals, but the plastic hood mounted spot mirrors are an atrocity!😁
  6. Wonder what Chris would think of some of our automatic driving, steering wheel holders😁
  7. Ksb, I've been using Rotella t 15 w40 oil in every vehicle we own since 1977except my wife's two Corollas,03 and 2012 respectively,as they called for 10 w30 and 0w 20.For them I used Castrol, and Castrol Edge. I also used rotella t in all my lawn equipment which generally calls for straight 30. I began using Rotella on the recommendation of my owner operator, diesel mechanic cousin, as it met Cummins, mack and military, the most stringent requirements at the time! Looks like ill be switching to the new synthetic Rotella!
  8. Carlot, that is amazing! You may have me on that!😁 saw half of a Swift trailer in the middle of I 77 near Wytheville Va! Was making a u turn in the.middle of the interstate! Got sliced in half by another truck coming over the rise! You'll like this one, when I drove for Nu Car Carriers, they had a photo in they're Ayer Ma. Terminal of a new Ford someone drove off the front of the headramp, landed.on its nose in front of the tractor....a little rubbing compound?😁
  9. That maintenance free b.s. has been going on for a long time, think " lazy American" anyone old enough to remember when Ford did the 36000 mile no grease necessary front end on their cars in the 70s ? Had little plastic plugs where the grease fittings used to be! At 36001 miles the front end fell out! My 1988 GMC 7000 had a "sealed" throw out bearing! The thing puked at a receiver near Columbus Oh! They were nice and let me drop my empty trailer at their facility. I bobtailed home without the clutch 200mi (no problem I seldom used it anyway) but was out of hrs near receiver so parked it on a hill at Mickey Ds and caught it in gear in the morning! You better believe my new throwout bearing had a grease fitting! The worse part is the bell housing had an inspection port on the bottom, so if they had installed a greaseable throwout bearing the thing would have lasted forever what did they save 1.50?

When I was in the army the black kid in the bunk next to me had a jar of pickled pigs feet. I draw the line at that! My dad liked pickled herring known as "roll.mops" that was delicious! My grandfather liked limberger cheese! Grandma made him hang it out the window on a string!Fxfymn, have you ever eaten ludefisk? I'm sure I spelled it wrong! Traditional Norwegian dish even they say it tastes like s..t! 😁

  13. Good you're using rebar and not just mesh! Some residential driveways and walks in florida are using fiberglass mesh!don't think I'd want that!
  14. Great looking B,Turnbow, old oilfield rig?
  15. Nice B,Briscoe, welcome! I'd do the tractor thing, hide the frame "kick up" with fuel tanks or tool boxes, then you can tow any number of trailers...A camper maybe!
  16. 66,you could avoid all the steering issues by selling me the A Car for 2000.00 ( I'd even give you 500.00 for the drop deck!) I'd fly up north and drive them to Florida!😁 lol! But make up your mind quick! I don't like snow! Joking of course! On the subject of add on power steering, I drove a B model tandem dump with air steering. You had to turn the wheel slightly before the valve would open and throw air to the cylinder! Had an odd feel to it, but I drove it mostly on the job site in Margate Florida,I'm sure Hat City knows where that is! When I was hauling steel we ran R and U model Macks "sidewinders" with manual steering never seemed to steer that hard! Was just watching a TV report on flooded cars! The scammers have started to buy up the flooded cars and will take them out of state and sell them as used cars! They pull the mats and upholstery and dry them out with big blowers! I'll bet the sale of commercial Fabrez'e is thru the roof! This was a big deal during Andrew and Katrina! If they manage to sell the car the hapless buyer will start to experience electrical glitches...engine misses, accessories not working right in about two years on average as the electrical connections start to corrode! You members who live in states that border Texas and Florida beware! Alabama is a popular state for scammers as you can sell a car with a bill of sale! Watch out for used cars that are priced lower than average!
  17. 41 and I will be glad to keep it on alternating wknds.😁 we have NO state inspection in fla, some of the more populated counties have an emissions test only, but I believe if it's over 20 yrs old no tests at all!,however here in Hernando there are no tests at all!, The main reason I put up with an occasional hurricane😁 they let you drive ANYTHING! Here. Some dude has about a 17 ft wooden boat with a car chassis under it drives it every where! 66 do they make you meet the original emissions specs of the chassis your truck is built on? If your chassis becomes so old (20yrs?) Is it no longer required to be emissions tested? By the way I believe your A Car is my favorite vintage truck on this site! and that's saying something!
  18. General Ike, was wondering about you! Glad you're ok! My yard was unscathed, but we lost power for two days! Our neighborhood is ten years old, but has overhead utilities!
  19. The dog and he girl are both cute! I wouldn't try to take the ball off the dog,she seems attached to it!

That's enuf to make ya puke! However I've eaten fried spam with eggs, tasted better than it looked! Also creamed chipped beef on toast in the army! S.O.S ! I actually liked that!
  21. 75 or 76 Eldorado and a 55 Desoto, I had a two door hardtop like the Desoto, small hemi one of my favorite cars!, shift lever stuck out of the dash!
  22. The Diamond T as well, a little different than any I've seen,or is that a Federal? The hoodside trim looks like Diamond T!
