  1. I don't have a number on him. I've seen him advertise in either Wheels of Time or Double Clutch. I looked in the last two but didn't see anything. Check your back issues.
  2. John Chalmers He usually attends the local shows with some specialty Mack stuff.
  3. I been loosing sleep over this, but I finally got up enough nerve to go out on a limb here, but, I think it could very well be something used inside the plant, maybe Mack, maybe somewhere else, seems like it's built to run in tight quarters, and prolly the bell is like the warning alarm of the day. I've seen crawler tractors with rubber track pads built for that purpose, that's my guess. What do you guys think?
  4. I was taking a real close look at this thing too, and I always liked the Jerr Dan style body, not muck to go wrong with it, but the only drawback I see is that the DM chassis is pretty high to begin with, plus the heavy Jerr Dan body, height will be a problem with a lot of stuff. Seems like the price is right, condition is decent. Can't hardly go wrong with a 300 whistler, about as close to bullet proof as it gets.
  5. I give the guy credit, he's got a great sense of humor, and he knows what his truck is worth
  6. Rob, There was a place locally here that did fire truck refurbs, Northeaset Fire Apparatus in Landisville, Pa, the phone number I have is 717-898-1330. I used to have some dealings with them when i worked for Mack, don't know if they're still doing business or not. Might be worth a call. Dave
  7. Well, if you have to spend a little time in the doghouse, that's prolly an honerable reason. I think this truck was on evilbay awhile back for 50 some thousand.
  8. I don't think there ever was an M32 four wheel truck, there was an M30 and an M35. I have never seen a spec sheet on an M100. I think there was a Bulldog magazine that featured one on the cover, and I have a small full line brochure that mentions the M100, but no more than that. I have always been looking for one. Dave
  9. I have most of the M series spec sheets, Gerhart was a dealer for Mack off-highway until Mack pulled the plug on their off-highway program. If you want to see more, let me know. Also, somebody had posted a pretty complete set of M series brochures on the stripmine.org web site under equipment specs.
  10. I think you're right about it being an M32SX. An M15SX just used a regular dual reduction (80,000#?) set up, but the M32 would have had planitaries.
  11. Belongs to George Deckelman, check his web site http://deckelmanllc.com/index.htm Dave Oh ya, he's definitely a Mack guy!
  12. Somebody sent me this link to Truck Paper. Interesting part is guy says he has 10 Mack junk yard. http://www.truckpape...px?OHID=2847509& www.mackjunkyard.com
  13. I see one is even hooked up, looks like pre-trip and go. To post pictures, click on "more reply options" bottom right, then "browse" and find file location, and then "attach this file"
  14. Thought this might be of interest to you. Seems as though such animal did exist, although only 26 were built. Sorry, but I did not find any pictures. Dave B576S SED.pdf
  15. They are built in Lancaster at the former Dana plant, it is now called Lancaster LLP. Mostly the same people, same place, different name. Dave Ooops, Lancaster LPP
  16. I think Paul nailed it. They look nearly alike, but the DE is really rare, I think Roy Moxley has one, but I can't come up with a picture. Here are two pictures I could find, but I think one is an E, and the red one is a DE. Dave
  17. We have (2) MH V8s for sale. They are both E9 400 engines, T2090 transmissions. The white one is an '84 with ST spring suspension, LP24.5 tires, (6) alum wheels, and dual exhaust. The brown one is an '87 with Neway air suspension, 11R24.5 tires all alum wheels (was on Mack calander 1988? former PPG show truck) Both have level IV red interiors, both run good but have been sitting for awhile. Asking $11,000 for choice, or make offer. Call Dave 717-626-8544 or email d.igou@gerhartmachinery.com
  18. At your friendly Mack dealer, of course. They look like "Lifetime" polished stainless steel, the image is etched into the finish.
  19. 2004 thru 2007 Granites (models CV & CT) used the "AI" engine. As much of a Mack fan as I am, the "AI" was a big let down. While there are some improvements you can make, the low end performance is poor, fuel economy is not great, and the engine requires more frequent oil changes because of the dirt and soot that finds it's way into the crankcase. I would prefer a 2003 with the E-Tech engine, or in 2007 Mack had a short run of "CTP's", a Granite with the MP7 engine, but without a DPF. They were not perfect, but after the initial bugs, they did pretty well, and even though 405 horsepower was the highest setting, they absoulutely out- performed the AI's. Dave
