  1. ETNDT675 engine, non ESI 31 qts, ESI w/centri max 33.5 qts, ESI plus 58.5 qts (3 filters, extra deep pan) I went under a 676 w/ ESI + one day with only 2 5 gal buckets, I learned my lesson.
  2. A couple factory spec card scans just for U model fans
  3. Why settle for only two? The other picture is of a stock early V8 twin turbo
  4. Trucks of the same model, even if they were built in another plant, (in this case Oakville Ont, Canada) still would not have the same chassis number. Generally speaking, Mack also would not split a customer order (GSO) between two different plants. Also, the chassis number is assigned when the truck clears engineering, sometimes even several weeks before the unit is built, and it is very common that trucks had consecutive serial (chassis) numbers even though they were built weeks apart. I had also been involved in an incident when a truck came into the dealership and the chassis serial did not match the door plate, and the MSO, and the dealer was required to actually X out the number on the frame rail and re-stamp it with a factory stamp set. I was suprised that the customer really didn't have much of a reaction, I expected a problem from him, but it never was.
  5. Rob is right, it is possible to have two different models with the same chassis number.

  7. Watts Mack, of course. Click on Watts Mack logo, then parts dept, the The B model Store
  8. That's what I'm talking about! How could you possibly have a bad day with a back yard full of Macks? Looks like the the DCR all Mack show.
  9. Come on guys, POST SOME PICTURES!!!!! Any more, I really enjoy the small private shows more than the big shows. You get more time to get to know people in your own back yard, ones that otherwise may not have the time and the means to travel long distances to the major shows. Also there are guys that think their trucks aren't good enough to show at the big shows, but they come out to the local shows, and these "working class" trucks are the ones I enjoy the most.
  10. No it was 500 something. This was probably back in 2006, before DPF. The blue granite in the background was an MP7 without DPF (pre EPA 07) This the VT came out of the test lab down there, and they were having issues like too much coolant flow for the size hoses, they were having trouble keeping lower radiator hose on it, and they had about six clamps on it, I also don't think it had enough clutch. When the truck was in overdrive and you tramped down on it it gave the sensation that either the drive tires were breaking loose or the clutch was slipping. It was an animal, and it sure did turn heads comming up the road.
  11. I'm a Mack guy, and always going to be a Mack guy, but several years ago I got to drive one of the early VT800's, with a D16 (16 litre) engine, 13 spd trans, from Volvo headquarters in Greensboro NC to Lancaster, Pa. It pains me to admit this, but I could probably even have learned to like it. The cab was very spacious and comfortable, but it took a little while to figure out all the dumb little symbols on the switches, and the stalk (turn signal) switches, like wipers, and the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel hub. But, other than that, the ride was smooth and it was very quiet. Well, I admit, I started to stray a little bit, but that's why I hang out here, so I can get myself straighted out and de-toxed, so back to reality, tomorrow I need to take a load of railroad rails out on the '91 Superliner, I still like that too.
  12. I think the first round of federal anti-lock brake regs helped do 'em in.
  13. I scanned a piece here that explains how an "inter axle" power divider (from one axle to another) not to be confused with "inter-wheel" (side to side on same axle) works. At no time is there ever a positive "lock" with this arrangement, and it works better if the vehicle is still moving. Think of as more a "limited slip" arrangement than a differential, or in this case a power divider lock. Towards the end of this piece it describes exactly the situation you're describing. Hopethis answers your question. Dave
  14. So far the heaviest rain passed by Lititz, with just one or two brief showers, there are a couple wet spots on the field, but it is still manageable. The biggest problem will be spectator parking, hope most are driving 4X4's. There is already a Titan there, and the Mack History trailer courtesy of Mack Trucks.
  15. There are a couple minor "bumps" in the weather forcast, and there's a couple wet spots in the field, but towing trucks out of field is a major fund raiser (just kidding) for us every year!
  16. I think maybe Barry can help you with the Mack Parts, he should have a whole truck load!! I heard the decent places in Lititz are filled, but just to the west on route 72, south of Manheim there is a Country Inn & Suites, and north of Manheim a Hampton at route 72 & Pa Tpike. Other nearby places are Denver, Pa, and Lancaster there are some good places, Eden resort at route 30 & 222 is really nice, but a little $$$$. Dave
  17. Could it maybe be just a remote drain line so when you tap the water off it goes somewhere under the truck instead of bleeding it off down over the frame rail and whatever?
  18. Barry, I have many nice high rez pics in my three galleries, everything, with the exception of the factory pics, belongs to me. Please feel free to browse and pick anything you like. Dave
  19. Stay tuned for updates. I hope we get some good drying weather the next couple weeks. We had somewhere between 10 - 12" of rain here this week, I'm glad the show is not this weekend! Last year we had 7" of rain Thursday before the show, but we got through it. 6X6's and half-tracks welcomed!!

  21. Your steer axle is likely a FAW537 (or some similar variation depending on the style brakes) 12,000# axle, and you already figured out the rears are 34,000# Dave
