  1. Anyone watch Highway Through Hell on Discovery Channel? It follows Jamie Davis Towing. I saw in the latest Bulldog Magazine Jamie was at the Mack factory bolting the Bulldog on his new Anthem. All the pic showed was the him at the front of the hood. Anyone see the truck yet? I imagine it is just a tractor and not getting a tow body on it?
  2. Well my last truck that I really miss is my 2005 International Paystar. It was as reliable as the old Superliner's and R model's I ran. Same with my old 9900i International. Both were Cat powered. But from 2013 up I can only comment on two personally. And I can say the Mexican built Freightliner Coronado 122SD has superior build quality compared to my US built Western Star 4900. This Star has made me hate trucks and trucking. I love the truck, but it was built by disgruntled drug addicts I think, who hadn't slept in days.
  3. Yes, as Logtruckman has said, I am not happy with my 4900 Star. Love the looks, the interior, dash, everything about it.....EXCEPT the build quality. It's like they built it drunk, or put all their most disgruntled employees on it. And considering it was a fully loaded unit and not just some cheap dealer stock order, you would think they would have put a BIT of care into it. And yes, they are all junk now. Got a big heavy haul fleet here that has been Kenworth forever and they are thinking of switching, and the contractor I haul for bought a fleet of new Granites and a Mack dealership chain, and their new Mack's had parts falling off them the first day they went to work. All they care about now is getting your money.
  4. And they need the stylized bulldog mirrors.
  5. I think it looks better like that with the big steers and flat top than it does as a highway truck. I just wish they could find a designer than can come up with some better looking air intakes than those screen doors on the sides of the hood. At least those goofy mirrors can be deleted.
  6. No more....those are the last new ones they ordered before production ended. I have two friends with Titan's here. One just burnt and the other was sold and replaced with a new twin steer tri-drive 4900 Western Star because the price of a same spec 505 h.p. Granite was way higher than 600 h.p. Kenworth's and Star's.
  7. Yes, the green ones are Anthems.
  8. Nortrux is one of the few dealers in Canada where I see they still spec all pedigreed trucks. Mack transmissions and rears and suspensions.
  9. Ontario Canada is all about big spreads to get max allowable. And now we have SPIF......where all trucks and trailers must have self equalizing, steering lift axles. And you can pull a pony trailer with a twin steer tri-drive, but you get penalized with a twin steer tandem. Just more government stupidity dreamed up by people that have never driven a truck.
  10. I take it side stacks will not be available with these new high rise sleepers? I'd rather have the old narrower bunk.
  11. And a flat top tri-drive.
  12. Or how about a tri-drive Anthem. Truck and pics courtesy of Nortrux Mack, Edmonton, Alberta.
  13. Spotted this at a pit I am hauling out of in northern Ontario, Canada. I was kinda surprised to see an Anthem used for this application with wide base steers.
  14. Seems to be a competition of who can make the ugliest hood vents these days. I think this truck and the Anthem are in the lead for the ugliest. Anthem looks like they grafted a screen door into the side of the hood.
  15. There's one good thing on that cart. The E7-460 badge.
  16. GM has no credit for the 60 Series. That was John Deere and Penske according to everything I have ever read about them.
  17. It's more classic than anything Mack and Volvo offer.
  18. That looks very nice. Like your choice of colors.
  19. Well, I gotta apologize to all you guys. I've been here before defending Mack and Volvo and really still wanted to be a Mack fan, but you guys were all correct. Mack is going down the crapper. That is the ugliest, goofiest looking thing I have ever seen. Hahahahaha. Where did they find those designers? Good lord! Mack has finally lost me. They want to ignore heavy haul and off road....and then the best they can do is come out with the new Tonka toy robot. And that grill looks even more hideous on the axle forward that is coming. But at least on the axle forward you can just replace the grill with the current one to make it look decent again. And that interior that all models are getting. What's with the flat bottom steering wheel? Is that so the new breed knows when they are going straight? And I bet the dash is just like the M2/108SD Freightliners......I bet you can't see that bottom row of gauges at all without craning your neck up over the steering wheel. All I gotta say is FAIL. Glad I got a 4900 Western Star.
  20. If that is what the new model will look like, I would never want one. Those are the ugliest shaped fenders, headlights and grill I have ever seen. What a joke. That would be a great autonomous truck. That way you wouldn't have to be seen in it, LOL.
  21. Correct Link. http://www.trucknews.com/equipment/mack-gains-ground-sees-room-growth/1003077879/ I can hear the Volvo haters grimace, LOL.
  22. Correct Link. All Hail Volvo! LOL. http://www.trucknews.com/equipment/mack-gains-ground-sees-room-growth/1003077879/
  23. I copied the wrong link. There is a new one in this months issues of Today's Trucking. Their shares have increased again. So you can't blame Volvo. LOL.
  24. Ya, wrong link. But the latest issue of Today's Trucking just had another article saying their market share has increased. I just copied the old link by mistake, LOL.
  25. I found out why all the improvements to Paccar products. Did you hear about the acquisition?
