I know I'm running behind but I finally dug out the T2100 PTO.

If worse comes to worse, you can always just pull drum hub and all. Most any drum that has any mileage at all will have a lip on the edge from wear.

I'm nowhere near you and this is the first time I've ever seen a engine like that but I would love to take a crack at getting it going. I just like oddballs and trying to figure out how stuff works. As has already been said, all you need is fuel, compression, and a properly timed Spark and that thing should run.

I don't know who sung it but when I was a kid I liked the song White Night. It as about a smokey that would trick truckers on the CB into speeding so he could throw them in jail. The smokey's handle was "White Night".

I've noticed one of my trunnion seals is leaking a little on my RD822sx. It's got the 65,000lb beam that requires gear oil in the trunnion. I assume that the walking beam has to come off to replace that seal. I was just hoping there was a easier way as that seems like a whole lot of work. I've replaced gear oil in similar situations with flowable grease (ie John Deere corn head grease). I wonder if this grease would provide enough lube for the trunnion? I'm thinking it may be ok as there's not a lot of hight speed movement there but I'm not really sure what all is in there. Is it bearings or just a bushing?

I've been in a truck when one blew. It didn't put a hole in the hood but sounded like a large bomb going off. I didn't know what had happened and expected to see the engine compartment full of carnage but the only thing wrong was the turbo hose had blown off. I could never to get the old hose to hold again after it blew off the first time. Had to buy a new hose.

Wow. Those trucks were really hand made. I had a old 1957 (I think) parts truck that looked just like the ones rolling off the assembly line. Ended up scrapping it but kept the front grill, thinking that I will make a display case out of it for some of my models some day. I also had a 1964 Autocar with a 230 Cummins, 10 speed. Was a nice truck, really too nice to use and that's the reason I sold it. Wish I still had it but at the time I didn't need any trucks hanging around that weren't making any money. My dream truck is a '60s model Autocar body fitted on a late model running gear. I just love the looks of those old Autocars.

A local guy still rums a couple of DW10s with scrapers behind them. He roads them almost everywhere. Doesn't have any brakes, when he's on the road he clamps a old tire in the bowl and just lowers the bowl to stop. I have seen him haul them on a old Phelan trailer. The tractor will be on the trailer and he just lets the scraper hang off the back and follow along.

The one like Thomas posted should fill the bill. They aren't very loud though. You might consider a electric one if you are worried about kids in the way.

Good luck finding a CJ4. They never went past the prototype stage. I did see one in a magazine awhile back that is supposedly the only one in existence.

You can get hurt using either but it's unlikely it will create a huge exsplosion. Using either, you're actually working with a lot lower pressures than you are with even a partially inflated tire. Tires are dangerous but can be worked with relitively safe if you just use some precautions. I'll contiue to change my own tires because shops want a fortune to do it for you.

Let me see if I can dig it out of the parts pile and I'll let you know.

As others have stated look for rust, then look for more rust. CJ5s are bad about rusting. I've seen a lot of them that looked really good from the outside but when you crawl up under them, you'd be scared they would break in half before you made it out of the parking lot. I've got a '74 CJ5 that I love. It was in a local flood we had here back in 2010 but I knew that going in. I got it cheap but have done a ton of work on it to get it like I wanted. Frame has zero rust but I did have to patch some rusty body places.

One of my coworkers had a sidewall blow out on a 24.5 while he was airing it up. It blew him back about 4' into a toolbox. Luckily he only suffered broken glasses and two black eyes. I was standing about 40' away at a shop window and the concussion was so bad it broke the window where I was standing.

I've got a Chelsea PTO for a T2100.The reason I have it is when the T2100 took a dump, I replaced it with a 12 speed 1070 and the PTOs wouldn't interchange. I now have another 12 speed that needs a PTO. I'm going to see if I can just swap the gears to get it to work. If not, the T2100 PTO will be available to sell.

The main problem I have against Muslims in general is that even though most wouldn't harm anybody, they won't rat out their terrorist neighbor who they know is making bombs in their basement and planning attacks. I'd tell all those people in those ISIS controlled areas that they need to take care of the problem themselves or the bombs are coming and they might also get killed in the process. I think most of those people that claim to be "innocent civilians" aren't that innocent.

I'd say they are required to do e-logs as they are titled as new trucks. Every one I've seen had electronic engines so it should be compatible with the e-log hardware.

My oldest road truck is a '94 FL, just a little over 300k miles. It will take me anywhere I want to go. At the end of the day, I'll have more clear money in my pocket than somebody with a 2015 truck that they owe their soul for.

Dealers at gun shows are required to run background checks. The "loophole", as they call it, is transactions between private individuals. Most gun shows let a individual bring guns he wants to sell. If somebody approaches you and wants to buy your gun you are free to sell it to them (in most states) without a background check. The "gun show loophole" is a code phrase for private sales. If the end the "gun show loophole", they will effectively end private sales of firearms. To make matters worse, the only way they can enforce private transactions is to know what guns a individual owns. The only way to do that is through registration. Everybody knows after registration eventually comes confiscation.

We only travel out of the 100 mile limit about once or twice a month on average and our newest truck is a 1995 so we are two for two. The down side is once in a blue moon we will make several long runs in a short period and that could turn into a problem but I sill don't think we will break the 8 day limit. Another thing is I think they will tend to harass people without elogs, even though they are operating legally through the exceptions.

I understand everybody has to start somewhere but if you want my parts business, put somebody that has a clue behind the counter helping me. Or at least listen to me when I try to help them and don't act like I'm the idiot. A parts guy is not a entry level job. What 41chevy said has a lot to do with it. For the most part kids today don't want take the time to learn their profession. They just want to sit behind the counter and get a paycheck.

My Mack dealer is no better. They say the vin on my RD822 doesn't exist. Funny that the Mack Museum gave me loads of info on that same vin.
