  1. these L model Macks sure have a classic look I reckon they look better than the B model that everyone likes they look almost as good as a R model It amazes me were the Mack brand ended up around the world it appears no corner of the world was untouched by the Mack Paul

  5. most machine shops should be able to they build it up with weld and then machine them back down however I have had whole splines fatigue and drop of were the weld was when you say tractor is that a prime mover or a farm tractor ? for $400.00 I would just get a new shaft Paul

  9. Looking good with some planing you could make some big storage boxes for esky's folding chairs ect in the goose neck there just hinge up flap's on the new floor Paul

Paul gotta love them extractors I have had 2 292 in chevy C 60 trucks they are pretty un heard of out here when I was rebuilding one of them for a truck I thought how much better could I get to go I woke early one morning on the phone to states for parts got heaps of machining done head got some big over size valves spent a fortune on it bought a four barrel offenhauser mainfold extractors 14 - 1 pistons had the crank and rods balanced and shot peened then I discovered the cool power Mack and as they say the rest is history never got the motor finished gave it to my mate who has a 1950 chev sedan with a blue flame six in it so I have no idea how well it would have gone I guess I will find out one day maybe So do you have any figures on on the 292 of Uncle Harry apart from cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   14. have you done a compression test even if it runs fine if the motor has done lots of idling in its life it might just need a valve grind Paul

All very interesting the the federal Australian government announced today they are spending I cant remember how many billions to try and fix up the beef roads a lot as up 30% of the cost of raising and marketing beef in Australia is the road transport I guess as the world markets are slowing down and China dosnt want coal or iron ore much anymore they government has finally realized they will have to look to farmers again to keep the country going funny how the world still needs food ????????   18. so do you blokes loosen the oppiste side to the one you trying tighten or are just trying to pull it in tighter and not allowing somewhere else for the rim to go dunno if that makes any sense I cant see how it could be such a drama loosen one side of the rim tighten the other it has to run true no need for all this other high tech measuring and sliding rims on the spider maybe all this stuff only works in Australia ???????
