  1. I drove a 96' mid rise IH9400 eagle .double bunk. I ran in teams rarely as in a few times a year. I never felt we had lack of space. We kept our clothes bags on the floor and had 2 cubby holes for stuff we used. No tv or fridge just a small cooler we kept in the truck and a large cooler with the majority of drinks kept in the trailer. Running solo I kept the upper bunk up and out of the way. 10- 16 hrs driving then go to sleep for 8-10 . Well rested and do it again. Don't think I ever went anywhere in the u.s that kept me in the truck more than 3 nights in a row... If I hauled freight I would have wanted a fridge and tv but the bare big bunk worked well for me. Onthe otherhand Our hi rise IH had a fridge,tv and microwave ...I felt it was over cluttered running teams and lacked storage with all the stuff that belongs in a kitchen.
  2. That's a good combo....if the rears are speced right it should be about a 68-75mph truck topped out. A lot of people don't like the Mack 9 speed but I liked them..
  3. I agree....it's sad
  4. Exactly...plan the hose route with the tank on the truck to make sure you have clearance for the driveshaft. Then just drain and remove tank, weld a threaded bung for your return line. Then run the hose up to your deck plate. Also some people choose to run a 1" feed and 1" return ....others use a 1" and 3/4" ...it really depends on what everyone does in your area..
  5. That was the first truck I ever drove solo in the seat. 15 years old running down I-55 with the driver sitting shot gun and showing me the ropes.... .. Think it's a RS700L had a 285 with a 6 speed...think it also had the hood scoop on it?
  6. Nice old 65' caddy there...how many dead hookers in the trunk come with that one.....? Mine had 3 + james hoffa when I bought it.
  7. I bought a new camera a few weeks back ,got the extra zoom feature so I can grab a good shot 1/4 mile away....at least that's what I tell the wife....he he...
  8. I still shake my head why Mack won't offer a deeper cab? Pete,kw,Volvo, everyone seems to have plenty of room yet the Mack cab still suffers....I sat inside a 2013 Pete with the rear wall panel extension. Besides the goofy look of that extension( it can be well hidden with dual stack set ups) you can fit so much stuff behind you and still get the seat back into a more relaxed position. No need to have it jammed up against the rear wall....just adjust it how ever you like and drive...what a concept! And for the record I don't sit on the floor boards and have my legs all stretched out. But when I want to stretch my legs I should have the room.....

  10. if his truck is already set up with a single line Kit I would drain the oil in your wet tank, remove tank and have a bung welded on it to accept a return line to it. the return line will run from your deck plate trailer connection back to the welded bung on the tank. I prefer this route because it lets the oil flow better and keeps it cool. I never liked running the return right back to the pump just because of heat reason if the pto was left in when loading a machine or something and forgetting to turn it off. just my .02
  11. I use it and think it does a good job. It does not have that hard to remove haze like many do. Just apply, rub in and wipe away, I use it with my electric buffer as well....
  12. That sounds correct.....and I also recall hearing it was rear wheel HP but can't say if it was or was not the case..
  13. Its hard to follow all the truck restrictions. I was on the north side today got off 94 at damen. Had to take damen to the street the job was on...at some point on damen I see a sign that says no trucks over 6 ton....yet there were trucks everywhere making local delivery.
  14. That sucks. Why did you guys cut across lawndale between 47th and archer?... .I left Chicago southbound on 55. Soon as i got on i found heavy traffic with a wreck at western. This was around 1pm so I jumped off and ran south west on archer,to 47th west, to Pulaski north, and got back on 55 south. Archer was all backed up as well...didn't save me any..
  15. I will be on the north side around noon to drop off an excavator,. Then head down at halsted and I55 to pick up a mini excavator to bring to Bolingbrook....
  16. I was at archer and halsted today. Will be back there in the afternoon.
  17. If they removed the anti tamper bolts on the govener they likely turned it up. All it takes is a few simple adjustments of the rack stops to get it turned up...if it has a boost gauge you can see what it's pushing and may give a clue.
  18. It will be a west coast " tall hood" R model later known as a valuliner here in the USA. A 685 should be a 237 maxidyne a 686 would be a 285 tip turbine. Look at the engine. If no side mount charge cooler or front mount intercooler is present, it will likely be a 237.
  19. It's a cool show for new trucks...mostly Pete and KW so that can get old quick....I will say that some of the trucks were way to nice to run down the road everyday... The frames were spotless....I think there is another show coming up....chi town large cars? Might have to check on that one..
  20. The Tanzillo Crew went down to the Large Car shoot out this weeked. Here are some pics of the Macks at the show.
  21. I never would have thought I or anyone would get to see one run again in my life time....to me this would be one of those events you can't miss seeing atleast once...
