  1. Well good news! They announced today a new add campaign called "Built for America". I had that immediate thought about showing Ford fire trucks and PI's in some adds. Hopefully will see some 650/750's too-if not FD, municipal trucks.....maybe cleaning up riot debris is Seattle?๐Ÿ˜Ž
  2. we can only wish-another "American" truck!
  3. Wow...So someone must have fallen on their sword๐Ÿ˜Ž
  4. Demo or your co bought some? Is it not the same cab as the HD Silverado? And visibility is good? hood looks......"bulbous"?? Or is seating position higher than 3500?
  5. Its a Super Duty so its an N-850 or 950-and in 63 the big SD V-8's had not be ruined by emissions yet.
  6. So where are they- introduced a year ago and I have yet to see any on dealer lots. Are they NOT in production?
  7. Nice-again just wish they had squared that hood. Its a vocational truck-not an "aero" linehauler!
  8. Same note- my wife said.."I wish I was 30 years younger". I said...."No- you wish it was 30 years ago"
  9. I can't believe GM would not have done their share of "due diligence" before getting in bed with this guy. They might not be out any cash but I can't imagine it would be smart to embarrass Mary B with some half baked scheme-or should I say.."alleged" half baked scheme.
  10. Yeah but cinder blocks have square corners! Wasn't the real killer the dumped tool boxes? Either way hope Cheby didn't spend too much on those ads. If they did you can't prove it by the sales numbers. And with all the "loominum" 150's on the road how many complaints do we hear? As for the telemetrics, all the more reason to be showing REAL commercial trucks-and in all classes. But I hear you on your company experience. I've been away from that stuff for so long but I guess their push is "why spend on aftermarket when we have it included"??
  11. Agree 100% on the F-600. And at 22,000lbs vs 19,500 for 550, that translates into another 300 gallons of water. All of a sudden it is a much more capable "first responder" in the same size package. In particular for MV accident response.
  12. Thx Kevin And I did see that truck in the news. Ford is on such a "Ford Proud" kick you would think they would take advantage with some "Legacy" shots like this....."Still on duty after all these years"
  13. I can't believe it- they actually screwed up and showed an early 80's F-600/700? But they made up for that mistake by showing a 150 being loaded by a skid steer with gravel. Heaven forebid that they at least show a 350 one ton dump being loaded. Might convey the wrong message that Ford builds stuff beyond Lariats!
  14. They didn't want to spring for power steering๐Ÿ˜Ž
  15. Well I was on Sumitomo's web site yesterday and in Commercial tire I searched and no 11R-24's came up -regardless of service/position. Went back just now and ST-508's came up with 11r-24! ????
  16. Good- I always thought.....20" tube type, equals 22.5 tubeless, 22" tube type= 24.5 tubeless, 24" tube type-you are out of luck By the way your Sumitomo's must have been someones old stock as they don't list 11R-24 on web site.
  17. Nice-and where are those made? I have Bridgestones on my front axle -I thought they still made an 11:00R 24? Joseph's Equip has been advertising that they have a bunch of 12R 24 Goodyears. Price of course is not published.
  18. I'm told some of the Chinese tube types are not exactly "round"๐Ÿ˜Ž
  19. Thx Chuck-and now I know where these are going judging by the colors!
  20. By the way- dawned on me that I did not post pix of these monsters- They were there in July. WS chassis and the booms are 120' Can't figure out the logic of a a folding 120' stick vs a telescopic???? Can you imagine the price tag on these ?
  21. Every so often I drive through a nearby Altech installation facility. In prior years it was usually full of class 4-7 -typical utility bucket trucks. The class 4-5's were usually F-450-550-like 98%. Big trucks , Internationals and F'liners but lately more and more Paccars and Western Stars- and mostly tandems. Within the past few months looks like most of their installs on the big trucks are monster Effer folding booms. Today for first time I saw an F-750- used to be plenty in the Blue /diamond days but this was first Avon Lake truck I've seen there. But check out this Granite! And the WS. First Mack I've seen their in a long time
  22. KSC, Just out of curiosity I was on the Ford corporate web site the other day seeing seeing what they were still pushing for sedans-given Hackett's position that cars are dead in the US. (Apparently the Koreans, Toyota, Honda etc have not discovered they are losing their ass building cars). In any case, thinking of all the press we see from the Turks about their new dealers in Europe, just for kicks I went to some of the Ford euro country web sites and clicked on "commercial", and guess what...No F-Max. 4142 etc. This clearly says to me that Ford Otosan is a "mirage" as far as Ford is concerned. The Turks may have the name, but they are on their own and if Ford does not even show the big Fords on country websites where Otosan is making big press announcements about their dealers, they are completely on their own and Dearborn could care less.
  23. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-ford-motor-commercial-vehicles-insigh/fords-incoming-ceo-wants-the-u-s-automaker-to-run-like-a-deere-idUSKBN25Z2JH Well they at least mention class 7.
