  1. true, true- in fact, I just googled "wierdest person on bmt" and the first 18 pages of results all said the same thing- "hatcity". I must say, I did not bother to check page 19 however.
  2. you forgot me- i'm not wierd either.
  3. Saw this Mack in Flatwoods, W.V. I looked at the license plate to see if it was out of Canada, because Peterbilt was spelled wrong, or central Illinois, because the piss on Peterbilt decal was there in the first place. It was neither, had N.Y. plates on it. Saw an R-model log truck with a rusty door in Estill, S.C. this morning- Saw an R-model log truck without a rusty door in Dillwyn, Va. too. and a dump truck in McKees Rocks I even saw a Euclid.
  4. You need some of these signs too-
  5. I just got here- now that is good!
  6. Used to be a bar across the road from the truckstop in Dallas Pike W.V, just east of Wheeling, that had the front of a Transtar IH as the door, you opened the grill and walked right through the front of the truck. Don't know if it's still there, only saw it once in the early '80's.
  7. well, it's back to the old grind today...

That's quite efficient of you to get all those symptoms at the same time. Get Well soon!

  8. I don't know what it is, it's a mystery. I don't even recall ever seeing anybody there. I used to have a picture of the building and the VW, but I must have deleted it.
  9. I like it! Here's another ideer.
  10. So would I! Seen it for years, but i'm not sure what it is. There's like a quonset hut there with a VW beetle sticking out of the side of it, but not much room to pull off in a truck. Here's a little video I took going around the 15mph. curve at Chimney Corner, headed west.
  11. Heavy Gunner might like these-
  12. No, Hawks Nest is between 19 and Charleston, actually between Ansted and Gauley Bridge.
  13. Petersburg, Va, it's off of I-95 just before you get to the I-85 split. South Park exit. You can see it from 95, they have truck parking too. There's usually some Abilene trailers out back.
  14. I saw a Bulldog golf cart once, in Winchester.
  15. hmmmm- none of the pictures seemed to work!
  16. hmmmm....me neither, probably kind of rare these days. That's the only tractor that was roped off, all the trucks were, but you could walk right up to the rest of the tractors.
  17. It was hard to keep up with a Snuffy running across Hawk's Nest.
  18. Here's 'just an R-model'
  19. I bought a couple of books too, American Trucks of the 50's and American Trucks of the 60's. Not nearly as good as Ron Adams "Big Rigs of the..." series of books, but they were pretty cheap. They had a picture of a G-model in one that looks a lot like Doug Maney's, and one U-model picture.
  20. yeah, i'm speaking "Vinny" here, just a R ,not a U.
  21. Wish i'd seen that, probably be on again though. The tractor shows and antique tractor pulls are my favorite shows on there.
  22. OK, thanks. Heck, I might just go back again!
  23. I don't know Vinny, if i'd have taken a close look at everything in that case i'd still be there looking now. When I first saw the Smith's Transfer I thought "great- a U-model"! But it was 'just' an R-model.
  24. I'd seen one of them on the tractor show on RFD TV before, never up close before though. I'm glad David posted the info on the sign, I just took one of the advertisement sign but it's hard to read.Bet they were too expensive for regular folks to buy when they came out, probably why they didn't last long. You could probably buy an 8N and a good used pickup for what they cost- 1938 was a little before my time, but that's what i'd guess.
