  1. I'd take the doors off, cut some vent holes in it, and sell it to a chip hauler. It would look something like this-
  2. it's hard to draw a chain, so I drew a string of Christmas lights.
  3. yes, it's some kind of roll off dumpster thing, that truck runs around here every day.
  4. Had to take a load of lumber to Carter Lumber in Meadowlands, Pa. yesterday. I stopped at the truckstop at exit 1 at Mt. Morris, Pa. and got something to eat, then went up to exit 7 and pulled over on the on ramp and went to bed. Didn't stay at the truckstop, or in the rest area at the 6 mile marker because it's also a weigh station/DOT hangout and exit 7 put me north of that, and there's really no place else to stop between there and Meadowlands, at exit 40. I was sound asleep minding my own business when all of a sudden the truck shook and woke me up...I bounced out of the sleeper, ricocheted off the dashboard, flew back against the rear sleeper wall, bounced back into the back of the seats, back into the rear wall, then landed back in the bed...couldn't even remember where I was at first. I got up and looked out the window and saw another truck in front of me, about 15 or 20 feet ahead of me. So I got dressed, got my flashlight, and got out to see what was going on. This other truck had pulled over in front of me, then for some reason decided he needed to back up. He stopped backing up when the back of his trailer contacted the front of my truck. It bent the chrome piece around the grill, bent the screen in the grill in, and it hit hard enough to crack the fiberglass inside the hood too. He was Canadian, from Pembroke, Ontario. He gave me his name, rank, serial number, and insurance information. I took some pictures of the damage. If the insurance adjustor totals it i'm gonna tell Jeff he should get a used truck instead of another new one. A used one with another 550 Cat... Saw a U-model on 501 today too- or is it a DM?
  5. I must admit, the Kodak seemed to take better "drive-bys" than the Canon does, and most of my pictures from the road are drive by.Here's Maria.

    well said!
  7. My Kodak did great, took literally thousands of pictures with it. I gave it to my ma, she didn't have a digital camera. Martina Shavrilitipova sold me on a Canon, just because she's smokin' hot.

Is it just me, or has the BMT membership continuously growing? Somebody must be doing something right- there's a place for everybody here. There is still serious Mack truck discussion, as it should be of course, but some of these folks who have joined recently or have been here forever are what make this site great to me. Members from all over the world- even Russia. To name a few- randyp, vision386,hatcity,greendash,olivetroad,rowdyrebel,41chevy,bullhusk,David,umodelnut,ben, Timothymaikashouliuawhoo, and on and on and on...great contributors- I love it. People can choose to read only "engines and transmissions" if they want, pay no attention to "odds and ends" if they want, or as I do, read everything that's new- starting with "odds and ends". Great site- my 2 cents. If I were King, I wouldn't change a thing.

Amen brother!(bulldog man) All jokes aside, this is the best site on the interweb machine, period!
  11. you're tryin' to egg me on now...really think I should do it?..naw, I cain't!..this is a family show,eh?OK, it's in the VIP lounge.
  12. so, what kind of camera did you get? I went from my trusty old Kodak to a Canon last year.
  13. this is such a good "fix that post"...but i'm not gonna do it...don't do it otherdog, don't do it!..don't do it- just leave it alone!
  14. you actually got permission to post that, even with all the photoshopping of other people's pictures that goes on here?..amazing!
  15. ...just don't ask her to marry you right afterwards...
  16. Calling Olive-Ed spelled "peal" wrong-it should be "peel".In case any ones wondering, here's what i'm talking about with the chains- you should always chain it across the front to make sure it doesn't slide. oops, sorry Ed- it was David who spelled peel wrong!..don't know why I was thinking hatcity...anyhow- Olive?
  17. Oh, good deal then- you should always put a chain across the front of sheet pilings, lest they slide to the front and kill you if an idiot in a 4 wheeler pulls out in front of you and you have to "lock 'er down".
  18. I stick with Rob on everything, always have- and he's not even my uncle. Only time he ever fouled me up was when I took his advice and told the D.O.T. man to "blow me" when he pulled me over for a random check. I suspect he was joking, but I didn't know at the time. That's the only bad advice i've ever gotten from Rob. After I pulled my 2 years in the big house after that, i've been a model citizen.
  19. Great looking truck. We had many "stretch" trailers, or "extendable" trailers as some people call them. Very heavy to haul regular loads on though, with the double frame, but a very convenient unit to have if you do occasionally haul a long load. I think we weighed about 38-40,000 with them empty. We had some that stretched to 80'. As a long time flatbedder, i'm not even gonna get into hauling pilings like that. I'll just assume he's already taken the safety chains off the front.
  20. It is located on rt. 119 in Connellsville,Pa.
  21. dammit!..that's the view I used to see back when I drove a 379exhd, 550 cat,18 spd,3.55's- pre-p.o.s. paccar school bus motor, 15 mph. in the low side on every hill days.
  22. I found both of them...cat too.
  23. I took that with my old 35mm camera, I don't even remember where it was.
  24. Autocar dump truck Brockway from a photo album
