  1. I took that load of scrap to Chicago this week, left on Sunday. Saw a blurry half nekkid girl in a car on the W.V.Turnpike- she blew by too fast to not be blurry. Nice reflection of a red KW. You can see my an arm in the window. I used to think there was a lot of wind towers around these parts, especially in W.V, but Indiana's covered with them! I saw a barge- A crane- A drawbridge- Another crane- A low profile Peterbilt tipper truck- A Detroit Diesel powered train car moving machine- A sharp looking Peterbilt truck- A big Mack truck- I've got to turn in between the yellow blocks and pull on the scale to the right when the light turns green. Looks pretty tight, but it wasn't too bad. Chicago skyline... I saw a rainbow too- Random hot babe with a B model, from the interweb- I-68, western Maryland. I loaded tubing in Chicago going to Baltimore. Baltimore- Picked up a load of stainless steel in Baltimore going to Lynchburg. Climbing up the Key Bridge- I saw a big Mack truck in Baltimore too. Then I went to Petersburg and hauled 2 mill rolls to Milton,W.V. and brought one back- and loaded one today going back to Milton. Saw this big yellow machine in Petersburg- Saw this on rt.60 in W.V, with 2 mill rolls in the mirror. Don't know what it is, but it's huge and really cool looking, and it has new paint on it. Saw a load of logs on 85 this morning, behind this cabover KW. I saw a big Mack truck in Petersburg too. And a girl in a car- Saw some ripe tomatoes when I got home, but some were showing signs of the dreaded blossom end rot. We ate 4 of them already.
  2. I'm glad she finally got to the top of that hill and got leveled out.
  3. Pretty much. I've known kids myself who had everything they ever had handed to them, didn't have to work for a thing, and wrecked every vehicle they ever had- which was given to them, they didn't have to buy it themselves. I had to graduate high school, get a job, and buy my own car before I could wreck it. And i've known parents that told their kids right from the start that they were better than everyone else, they were special, they were wonderful, their doo-doo didn't have an unpleasant odor, and on and on. No, you're really not- you're no better than anybody else. You're just gonna be an adult asshole.
  4. You're welcome Pawel, I already resized most of them so I don't have a full size image any more. Here's the biggest of what I do have, plus a D9 that I took at Kyanite Mining Corp. in 2010. Hope it helps. I think they were all D8's. I was sitting in the truck a good ways away from them when I took the pictures and didn't walk over to take a closer look.
  5. Nice looking Pete,eh?
  6. I saw this D8N fueling up where I delivered the load of scrap in Chicago Monday. Then it headed for the salt pile... where it was pushing salt the whole time I was there- back and forth, like randyp. All that salt probably takes it's toll on equipment. Which might be why these units are parked over here looking like this-
  7. Saw this unit in Chicago Monday.
  8. .
  9. This is tore up Tuesday in Winfall...
  10. Or is Mike talking about the free bonus pictures?..I just don't know... free bonus pictures- ants... ribs... never had much luck with beef ribs- but these might be "the cat's ass" as Larry Wales would say, or "the bomb" as Jo would say.
  11. What, Winfall wimmin? OK then, here you go- Meanwhile, over at Winfall vineyards... I even went to Winfall today, took Jo's car over to the Winfall carwash, where they still do a hand job.
  12. Happy birthday...if you haven't pressed the red button that is.
  13. Sounds just like Advance Auto Parts. You can't buy a flat washer there without them asking what it's for, make, model, and cereal number of the intended application, so they can look it up on the computer. I went to the one in Appomattox to get a battery for an MTD lawnmower once. The parts guy wanted the make, model, cereal number, etc. I said "it looks like a motorcycle battery". He threw his arms up in the air and said "that doesn't tell me anything, there's a thousand different batteries!'' So I threw my arms up in the air and said "they don't even make a thousand different batteries!", left my other items laying on the counter, and drove across the street to Western Auto and got one off the shelf. And one of the truck salesmen from Truck Enterprises was looking at the mixer one time and said "you know, they made a three stick transmission too." "oh, really?" "oh yeah, it was called a triplex." "oh..."
  14. These are stainless steel, I could make a nice smoker out of one of them.
  15. I think I said I wasn't going to complain about the heat this summer, after all the snow and ice we had last winter...been nice and warm this week. I saw a tall skinny horse and a short pot belly horse in Milton,W.V. Saw a dove in Milton too. Saw an R model with a big load of logs in Newcomerstown, Oh. A girl in a car who was movie star beautiful- A girl in a car with the shoulder harness that lifts and separates her boobage- Charleston,W.V. Eagle Rock,Va. U model in Roanoke. He's got this load well secured! B model in McKees Rocks, Pa. I finally managed to get a decent picture of it. A dog in a car. Had to load at B&W in Lynchburg yesterday for the second time this week. The first time I had to go inside the secure area and had to be searched 3 times at 3 checkpoints. Had to leave my camera, cell phone, CB mike, laptop, CD's, DVD's,etc. at the last check point- steak knives are OK though. I didn't go in the secure area yesterday and only went through 1 check point so I took a secret spy photo- Picked up a load of scrap, mostly copper, going to Chicago. Amber waves of grain in Gladys. Thought I had my first ripe tomato... then I turned it over...
  16. Nice pictures! When I don't have many pictures you always get good ones. And almost everybody likes "girls in cars" pictures. I don't run to the New England area any more- not that I mind, since I have to go around or through D.C, Baltimore,Philly,N.Y, and Boston to get there.
  17. Thanks, those are great pictures- you got a lot that nobody else did, liking that B model mixer!
  18. Thanks Vlad, great story and pictures.
  19. Great pictures, that grocery truck reminded me of one that used to come by about once a week when I was only about 5 or 6 years old. All I remember was it was a man named Dan. It was a Ford truck I believe, but it was set up similar, had the scales, he even had fish on ice on the truck. I always looked at the fish, it was fascinating to see all the stuff Dan had on the truck at the time. I hadn't thought of Dan for years, thanks for the pictures.
  20. OK, here's what i've got- no offense to anyone, no disrespect intended, I don't know any of these people, never seen or heard of any of them before, , know nothing about them...
  21. I rode down to Cumberland today to see Mom and Dad. Daddy mentioned that they were married in 1951...wow! Ma's still doing pretty good, Dad's slowed down a good bit in the last couple of years. Took a few pictures along the way of course- stopped and looked at this 400 Farmall in Appomattox. My brother's Farmalls, a C and an H. He used to have a 350, but he sold it. Saw all these units parked at the old Ford dealership in Appomattox- I don't know a thing about them, who owns them, or where they came from, but they look good for their age to be unrestored. They look like one of those "barn finds" you hear about sometimes. A little before my time, but the Ford appeared to have a manually operated cable shifted 2 speed rear?
  22. Only got a few pictures this week, so here with even more gripping descriptions than usual... A mixer in Gladys,Va. Another mixer in New London,Va. I saw this Lynchburg Ready Mix Diamond T passing by on 460 when I stopped at the Express Lane the other day and grabbed a quick pic just as he was pulling away from the stop light. They've been digging and grading on this place for a long time in White Sulphur Springs,West Virginia. It's between the Greenbrier Hotel and I-64. I was wondering what it was, and if you don't know something, ask a Burns driver. He said the owner of the Greenbrier was building it and it was going to be a practice facility for an NFL team. I need to turn right right there to get unloaded and reloaded. All this TMC had to do was pull up about 15 feet and I could turn- but no, he sat right there until he was finished chaining that roll down. I saw a rabbit scratching his head. I saw a storm up ahead in Pa.. I saw rain up ahead in Va. You can usually see all the way to the top of Afton Mtn. from here, it was pouring rain at the bottom of this hill. Saw an old military truck. Later I saw another one- I think this one might be for sale. Saw lots of odd looking trailers. I saw a girl in a car.
