  4. Well finaly got to work on truck today in the shop, no 30" of snow to move. I powerwashed all underneath the truck to remove all the crap and we where able to follow the line up to the new tredle valve that was added prior to my purchase. Removed the line to the front, released maxis and applied brakes and had air going to front valve, so we remoed the line at the bumper and attached again at tredle and applied brake and sure enough had air through hose to that valve, connected hose back up there and front brakes now work. We figure that something either came out of tredle valve or had something in the line. But thanks for advise and asking.....Jack
  5. Our B-61sx with the quad and 11,00x24 Bias ply will only do tops 52 mph and its powered by a 673c.
  6. At the golf course I was having trouble with neighborhood kids drinking and fooling around out on the course. We got tired of the vandelism and talked to parents who said not my child out there. So we got those cameras hunters use to see what is in the area at night or day for hunting. Well we got 3 of them at Bass store put them out on the tree's where they would not be noticed and that weekend we had issues with kids, brought camaras in and down loaded pictures to computer and called the police. Boy where those parents shocked to see little timmy drinking on the course in the dark, The kids had no idea they where having pictures taken and they where crisp and clean. We spent 500 for 3 cameras and they worked for our situation with no power near by.
  7. Turning 50 this spring I enjoy seeing younger people have a like for these old classics. I rember well to this day riding with my father as he drove his R700 twin stick up the Tobin bridge with a load of oil, heading out to a mill in western Ma. Its things like this, that that I am sure we all share and has lead to a younger group wanting to drive or restore these older trucks. For myself I have only daughters, but they love their grandfathers B-61 and go to the shows, they love to go out in the truck and want to see the truck kept in the family. My love of Mack trucks has lead me to purchase my own truck, my Superliner and growing up I was always impressed by the size and looks of that style truck. For those who enjoy, collect or restore these trucks you are preserving a piece of time, that to alot of people bring back memories of a bygone period. It always amazes me to be at a show with the B-61 and have people come up to my father and smile as they talk to him about the truck and remember an era gone by. My father is 71 and I enjoy seeing what he gets out of peoples reaction to his truck and the reaction I see from my daughters to that truck. Preserving these classic trucks Mack made through all the years speaks to durability of the trucks and the memories they invoke in people and to a new younger generation of enthusiests the torch is being passed to you to preserve these trucks.
  8. That truck is up at Josephs Equipment, in Manchester NH, looks good he said he was getting another in after I bought mine off him.
  9. Father and brother coming down on fri to show in there pickup so ounce I park superliner will not move till I leave for home on Sat afternoon.

  11. Have not gotten to work on yet, The snow last weekend changed my plans spent last 4 days in a backhoe. Plan to work on this Sat, sent the truck out to have it all steam cleaned underneath so we could see what we where doing. Will let you know what we find and thanks for asking.
  12. Question to you guys, thinking on bringing my Superliner down there for (1) Its first time out in public to be looked at and (2nd) what day do you need to move the truck in on. I know with the B-61 we moved it into Springfield on the day before show started and left if there. Ithought I would drive down on thurs after work and have truck there for fri morning and take it home on Sat at close of show if you can do that. Any thoughts welcome.
  13. I would take them and get them rechromed, if they are in solid shape will be better off. We did that with alot of the chrome fixtures on our B-61.
  14. On the Superliners the twin stacks look nice, they add to what already is a large truck, On mine going to in time go back to the original exhaust system and remove the straight pipes, they sound good, look good,,,,but they arent what I want on the truck, but am deffinaitly going to red tanks to match the frame and stripe them. Going to have frame done at Arc painting in Auburn NH in April.
  15. That is a nice looking truck Superliner, very clean looking tractor.
  16. I like the your R-Model and like the color, do you have an R tractor that pulls a dump trailer running around here now? I like the SuperLiner especialy like the red on the tanks, mine are black on my Liner with red frame and after much thought going to leave painted and was going to match the red of frame and after seeing that pic know I made the right choice.
  17. I don't know when it changed but this is what our B-61sx looks like, hung the air lines on the outer edges and the loading light on drivers side.
  18. My father worked it plowing in and Autocar Dump truck for JJ Cronin, he went out full load of sand and he said the wind still made the truck rock side to side. he remembers opening up streets that the snow was rolling over the plow and over the hood of the truck. I remember those trucks and they where big trucks. He was gone for about 5 days if I remember right, that was one storm I will not forget.
  19. Thanks for the pic's my father remembers that lineup of B- models, he said that was when they had just gotten them, he drove one of them but not any pictured, he also sometimes drove the whites, and R-models they got.
  20. Looking for any help I can get, trying to find any photo's of there trucks, they where based out of Waltham Ma they hauled bulk cement, Propane and other tankable goods. There trucks where green and white my father said. He drove for them before Coastal bought them out years ago.
  21. Its not a problem for me,,,If others share or care to debate one another thats fine on a given topic. I think it only makes the site more inclusive for those who care to share opinions and for those who choose to reply. So let the soapbox begin.
  22. Maybe we should email him and have him remove any of our trucks from his site. He did not ask our permission or have us sign a waiver for the pics of any of our trucks from the truck shows, after all they are our trucks ment to be enjoyed by us and those who appreciate them.
