  1. Those are alot of great additions of pics to the tread. I have along way to go yet, to get mine to the level of some of the trucks, alot of care and attention to detail in them. I am happy to be taking mine back to its original looks after seeing the ones on this page and all the nice comments I had on another post. Well shameless one of mine and its older sister that was actualy taken to a car show this past weekend as a request by show sponser and the car people loved the truck, knew little of its history or what it was but it looked nice to them.
  2. Skips is long gone, I live in town and they tour that down for a strip mall about maybe 8-10 years. Owners got old and no one wanted it so they sold the land.
  3. Thats true we all want bigger and faster,,,,,lol,,,,But for me i had to to pass the state inspection she smoked a little when ideling. Believe me I liked the power, but for me the truck is for play now no longer a work truck the 425hp is fine.
  4. My truck is an RW 753 and the motor is a 3406B sorry typo era you are correct, other wise great motor just had it turned down from Cat told me previous owner had maxed out pump to get it to almost 500hp and the only smoke was at an idle, the motor was set back to its factory 425hp and runs nice.
  5. No one is asking me for them so no rush on them.....They are put away in the shop. I do Like how much better truck looks with the original style mufflers back on it they are much simpler and cleaner look, Thanks to all for the nice feed back, friends at home liked the straight pipes better and gave me grief.
  6. That truck looks real rough, as in not cared for. Speaking to the Cat 3406 and before I get grief,,,,,I like the V-8 macks always have, but my Superliner has the 3406C in it with an 8LL and she is no slouch. Sorry have to defend my trucks motor,,,,,lol
  7. Saw the same truck on 495 in Ma couple of weeks ago. Thought the same he is going the cheaper throw away truck.
  8. felicello on here was going to buy them off me, but have not herd from in a couple of weeks. They are 6" not in bad shape at all just too loud for me.
  9. Well after 3 saturdays ( Playing) working on removing the old straight pipes and replacing with new 10" mufflers and top chrome pieces. The hardest part was making up the new straps to secure the muflers to the support posts. I do like the original look much better! Posted are the before and after looks, thoughts welcome.
  10. Do you have the rear-end temp guages for the front and rear axels, also to you have any dashbord pieces, need the piece above the glove box on the top. These are all for an 89 superliner.
  11. Welcome from Wilmington Ma.
  12. 1965 B61SX, 1989 Superliner RW753
  13. From the album: My Toys

Cleaned up and ready for Memorial Day Parade.
  14. Paul, here is a picture of the stainless muffler, needs a little cleaning up.
  15. Update, McDivot Mack in tewksbury found me a steering box up in Canada at another dealer. They are shipping it to Tewsksbury for me to pick up and turn in my steering box, new one is fully warrenteed and is for my truck. The price was very resonable.
  16. Working on my truck and after powerwashing frame to clean and find leaks prior to painting I found passenger side box with a leaking seal and thats all hopefully. The drivers side may be more in depth, when grabbing the shaft going into it it has a lot of free play more than it should, which explains the play in the steering wheel. Called local dealer and was told parts are not available to rebuild, seal kits yes available. According to the factory run sheet it is a Ross steering box, any help or where to go if I need parts after I remove and open up. The truck is an 89 RW753.
  17. Will get it for you, at work now but when I get a chance will go to shop and get code.
  18. Take a look at my B-61 pictures in my folder and that was painted old mack red and it was a PPG paint, $$$ but was worthit, going to use same paint on my superliner frame.
  19. No they will not be this year, Superliner is going into the paint shop to get the frame painted and the B-Model is two slow to drive down there, maybe next year will be able to haul down with the Superliner.
  20. From the album: The Toys

Rear view with headboard removed to also be painted and put back on.
  21. From the album: The Toys

Removed straight pipes and replaced with original mufflers, stripping frame to send to paint shop.
  22. Alot of people know that truck and like you are happy to see it stayed local and is being restored, at some point i will take it back by Cappello's after I have it cleaned up. They did take very good care of the truck and I have done very little to it mechanically, did have the fuel pump turned back to the 425 hp range was maxed out. As far as the 8LL goes I do like it.
  23. You are correct the truck was originally all red, had one muffler and a 10 speed. It was owned by Ram Contracting from the merrimack valley. So when the frame is done it will get that deeper darker mack red that will make the black stand out more, especialy the red of the tanks with some stripping on them for accent. Want to make the blue on the hood the same red aventually.
  24. No going to put the rack back on, it needs to be sandblasted and painted like the frame. If you have those brackets interested in them for the mufflers then I can put the shields on.
