  1. I have to disagree on the cat motor in a Mack, I have one in my Superliner and have no problem with it and it runs nice and around here people will pay more for the Cat. There is nothing wrong with the Mack motor, but nothing wrong with the Cat either.
  2. Very clean truck, if you did not know better would think it was one of Continental's, good luck with it. You taking it to McDivot's on the 10th.
  3. Mirrors sold, picture of the seat.
  4. I have a similar gauge cluster in my 89 as your picture, with a few switches added.
  5. Could meet you at the at the end of the Ma pike, that's as near as I will be. Jack
  6. I will post a picture of the seat this weekend, its still in the truck just need to put the new one in. Don't know if I am heading to Macungie,
  7. The frame came out very nice, the red looks so nice on truck frames. Just need to put a set of stainless fenders over rears and it will really look great!! Jack
  8. Used drivers seat out of my Superliner, was sent out and redone last summer, new seat padding and cloth material black. In very good condition taking out because my wife got me matching bulldog set for my cab for a present. $150 or best offer also pair of heated Bulldog mirrors used in good condition $30 for pair. Jack
  9. There's the Superliner up at Josephs, with a 400hp, 12 speed and 44 rears that is very clean and he wants I believe $27,000 for it, I called on it because it was the owned by the owners of my truck originally and was curious on it compared to what I paid for mine. and PC those are great pictures of your truck, I would never part with that truck.
  10. Welcome aboard, like your trucks, always see them around the are where I work, always clean and taken care of. Jack
  11. Pair of used Mack Bulldog heated mirrors in good shape, replaced because I received a new set as a gift,,,,$60 for pair. Jack
  12. An update of nearly completed work on truck over past year. I replaced straight pipes with mufflers, think they look better, sandblasted and painted frame, replaced all the lights on the headboard, new step tool box, new one piece fenders and other items. Just have to put center deck plate on and attach air lines and she is done. I am very happy with the red frame and fuel tanks just need to letter the doors and she will be all set. Attached are some before and now pics.
  13. I just sat here for the past half hour and read every persons post on this subject and from where I sit both sides are right. It is nice to see that everyone involved is passionate about there position and feels what they feel but the truth is things do move on and things do change with time. There is nothing wrong with a logo changing or evolving and lots of major iconic logo's have evolved and changed and at the same time the older "Built Like a Mack" slogan still is herd and spoken by those who own, preserve and maintain the old trucks There is some Irony here to crucify Volvo ( and I am not defending them) for how they operate, when Mack did the same to Brockway. I am a person who loves Mack and the emotions that the Brand stir's in people when they talk about the way things where. But at the same time Volvo has kept the brand going and alive, yes the trucks have changed and are not all Mack from bumper to tail light and maybe the parts are not kept as long as they should be but every one is like that now even Paccar. My owner I work for owns 50 Mack Visions and the trucks run every day and have been reliable trucks. I do own two trucks a B-61sx and a Superliner so I do care about the old Mack, but I also have no issue with the Volvo version of Mack, all things are global today and that is a fact none of us can overlook. That is just my thought and is not meant to offend or dismiss others opinions we all have them and should be open to all. Thx to all who may read this.
  14. We had a State Police truck team officer stop by our shop because we where wondering about pulling a trailer with the Superliner to shows. He said that so long as the truck was registered as an antique and not being used for commercial purposes that we can haul the B-Model on the trailer and be fine doing so, but if I was pulled over with anything else on the trailer then I would be ticketed, so things like antique tractors, cars and the such are fine and probably hauling your materials, but It has to be for you only. Also I have the Superliner covered by Commerce Ins. for antique coverage for 560.00/yr with a stated value.
  15. Market Basket in the beginning was all ford then went to Mack and are now 75% Mack, BFI when they where around here all Mack when I drove for them.
  16. I had to repost this picture from NJ trucks, it was posted by RFCDrum, really nice Superliner with dump body and another one near me, not sure it this pic was posted before of this one from NH a Green Superliner dump
  17. Nope that is the first picture of it and that is a real nice looking Magnum!!
  18. I have been around trucks all my life by way of my father, just the other day I went to a local chapter meeting with him for the first time and enjoyed it, very nice people all with stories of their trucks or other peoples trucks. I have to say around here I have noticed an increase in participation at the shows, more tucks are at them, they seem to even come from further away and the public participation is there. Alot are people who are older and may have driven similar trucks or just plain remember them as kids, they are always nice to talk with and listen to. There are more trucks going to private collectors who may show them only at there own place. Around here I have the ability to take the trucks to four shows a summer that is the B-61 now with the other truck we can go father out and trailer the B-61 and I am fortunate that my daughters like the shows, they are in there 20's and like the trucks and want them kept in the family so hopefully they will.
  19. My first Mack was a new 86 R-model, with a 250hp, twin sticks and a 28" roll off body for equipment. My second Mack was a DM roll off truck for BFI. Back then never thought to get pictures of the trucks.
  20. Have you thought of sending it out and having it chromed, just a thought.
  21. My 89 RW-753, double frame, 50,000lb rears, 14,300lb front, 8LL as extras truck has a steel hyd tank, steel head board and steel push plate rear and tow plate rear with all that weighing in at the trimmed down weight of 19,160 lbs on a 204" wheel base and a 425hp cat.
  22. Brian nice picture of the B-model, please tell me the truck is intack and runs not just painted as a sign sitting there.
  23. Very nice web site, alot of work went into it and it flows nicely.
  24. No cracks in the frame, there was some rust underneath all the brackets, push bar and 5th wheel. The area between the frame rails had some so before it went to painter I took a whiz wheel and ran it along the seems then took a big grinder and ran that down the seem and cut out alot ot the scale. It is not perfect like our B-61 is, but that truck was dismanteled all the way to the ground. For a 26 year old New England truck that worked every day till August 2012 its in good shape. The days of work are all done for this truck I bought it just to show and move the B-61 around to shows.
  25. Todays accomplishment got right side fender brackets on and fender fitted. Will drill and mount next week.
