  1. will check them,,,we do have the air drier by was not working right, froze up last week in the real cold weather. I am going to replace with a new one and not bother to rebuild.
  2. figured that, heading for the treadal valve
  3. Checked that and getting no air to the valve it appears.
  4. Have an 89 Superliner RW753, we where working on the front this weekend and had pulled the drum to replace studs fro front wheel. So as we where inspecting things we thought the brakes looked to good on the front, so I climbed in hit brake and low and behold they did not move. Went under the truck and pulled lines off valve under bumper put air to line to the cam and the shoes moved. So now we need to reace lines back and find where the issue starts. Any help appreciated in sending us in the right direction
  5. I would lower it for the weekend and take the weight off the truck for the period. Heres one way to take the weight of for the weekend.
  6. I prefer spring suspention, I know air ride is nice but just one more thing to do when dumping in letting out the bags. Springs its back dump and leave.
  7. I prefer the period correct finish and detail, any upgrade that is done so long as its from the era a truck was on the road makes it for me. I have seen old truck made up to the comforts of today and they look great but not what i am looking for. For example my truck here has a bumper off a 68 DM on it period correct but thats about it.
  8. Could Call your show "MACK PICKERS" like those junk guys American Pickers!!
  9. I have to agree,if they understand the real dollars it takes to even run these trucks today or the costs to restore something that is 15, 25 or 50+ yrs old and have them run like they should and actualy still do what they where built to do.
  10. Who got to watch the tv show on national geographic last nite on the tow company that works in a pass in B.C up there in Canada. Of course they ownwed no Macks and the whole theme of the nite was them getting their new WesternStar with a Century wrecker with a rotator on it. I think an interesting show would be about the people that restore and collect these classic old trucks and the time, money and knowledge it takes to restore these vehicles. They have antique car shows that show them being restored, what makes our vehicles less appealing. Just a thought after seeing these mindless shows
  11. Nashaua Motor Frieght, they are on Rt101 in Nashua NH off exit 7on rt 3 north onto 101 west, there terminal is across from the Marketbasket,,,,,They keep there trucks up very well
  12. Nice looking,,,cab looks pretty clean and dent free, my opinion would look nice as a tractor but even with body it looks nice.
  13. Like your pics, have to say my truck looks better to me with the tanks back to a polished finish, if not mistaken they bought #30 in 94.
  14. Nice pictures,,,, looks like Worchester Mack sold a few of them, Your truck still looks good, the distintive blue on the hood and curved pipe very distinctive of a Cappello/Brillo truck. My truck is an 89 RW753 formerly tractor # 30 pic of mine. Also another truck I have a picture of hauling a B model wrecker.
  15. There trucks are also not the same color, last ones I saw where red, and he runs the Pete's, I don't know what happened with the R model, but also a nice truck, I know Josephs recently just sold the CH he had of Brillo's and he has one of Cappello's Big Pete's that he was going to keep for himself for know.
  16. The silver superliner Arrons, the new owner I do not know, but he said it was sold local to me,,,,he got good money for the truck, it was very clean. My superliner was sold to me by Brian at Josephs in Manchester NH, he had several of Capppello/Brillo trucks, they traded to him. Mine was the last of the Superliners they had to sell. The truck was well cared for and very clean.
  17. Thankyou for your thoughts on the tanks, for now they will remain black and pinstripped, need to save the money. The truck in its current life is in retirement and slowly will be restored to a show appearence, only hauling will be to move the B-61 to out of state shows, the truck is workable though if I ever annoy my present employers at the golf course,,,,Yep I grow grass for a living. Here is a pic you may like, this truck is in my area.
  18. The state police run rolling truck teams around here, so there are no scales, but they do know the major truck routes to park and patrol. Also on different note wanted to say I like the picture of the Superliner you have, nice truck.
  19. You would be surprised what they move around here,,,,you see more trucks running that way here, so long as they have the weight permits they move it, that truck was reg for 130,000lb's legally in Ma.
  20. Thanks for all the helpfull information. As far as leaving them painted my father likes them black painted like the B-61, but I feelit is to much black on the truck,,,they do look beter pinstripped, but where you may stand to get in and out of cab on the top of tanks is all fine scratches right now on drivers side.
  21. The tanks are alumunum, and where painted I believe by Cappello. I do not want them painted want the polished look back on the tanks. Thanks for info so far.
  22. Asking any of you out there for any thoughts on the fuel tanks on my truck. The pics of my truck you will see there is one of my truck with the low bed and in that pic the truck has polished tanks verse the painted one on it now, the truck from the factory was polished tanks. Is there a way to remove the paint and get the tanks back to the polished finish. Any thoughts or opinions welcome.
