  1. passenger side No1 ( forward cyl ) left 8765 looking down right 4321 order 15486372
  2. Amen Bro you need to follow the above advice! Pull the front valve cover and look! get slack on both valves then you know your on number 1! then roll it back a ways then come back up in engine rotation to your target 5 Degrees the spade needs to be DEAD CENTER in the hole on the pump in should start and run but will be SMOKEY as soon as the oil pressure comes up the timing should advance to around 12 degrees If it doesn't clean up there is something wrong with the timing advance!
  3. Work in an x pattern from the center to the out side first torque 100 second 170 final 220 firing order 1548-- 6372 Valve set 24 exhaust intake 16 The markes are on the damper pointer is on the passenger side behand the ac pump if it has ac. Valve yoke screw down till the screw touches then two flats and lock it!
  4. What test equipment are they using?
  5. Theres room there ! just use your imagination ! Magic! 1
  6. Most noticable The e 7 head has guide studs for both the valve yokes the ac does not There are other more subtle changes as well that is the main one
  7. Where are you located? theres no good reason why that engine wouldn't past emissions a new after cooler and a turbo and a clean air. Filter and maybe a set of injectors at most somthing fishy unless the wrong cam has been installed.
  8. Would be nice but ! Hope your right however Lets see Bridge engine! ! = Another Half baked bandaid !
  9. Half fuel is Normal
  10. I wish Scania had the 51plus percent Mack market share in stead of the Volvo dudes at least we would be building a Mack worthy truck by this point. As for the shifter I refer the Volvo trash setup to the Mack set up .
  11. What ratio are the diffs ? Have u checked the ujoints ? if you are running un even tires try locking out the power divider! Also check the rear yoke bolt on the trans for tightness!
  12. There may be shiting up from the plunger as wel the injector will likly have to be changed as well
  13. Have you checked for boost leaks ? Is your air cleaner fresh?
  14. Injection pump
  15. Sounds like the injection pump is on its way out the fuel transfer pump side loads the injector pump cam as the bearings wear the cam gets pushed to the side by the transfer pump making the timing irratic at the front two cylinders is good possibility!
  16. Make sure u buy for as single exhaust truck the dual stack mufflers are very restricted!
  17. They wil need to do a valve set to check the slaves the indicator being a fair to descent valve set and a real tight engine brake set
  18. Does the yellow check engine light come on check the codes?also remove the kick panel passengers side and check the vehicle ecu plug for signs of dampness.
  19. They will run 15 -30 psi
  20. Take the stat out fill with water to the top of the tube belt off and couple of quick bursts of hard throttle should show it up! It will Worsen when warm
  21. If it's get worse under a pull its Likley head gasket we had one kept blowing the filter off low low liners caused it
  22. still can be a head gasket More common is low liner protrusion Liners need to be a minimum 24 thou ideal height is 26 . 28-30 max! Some engines came factory set a 22 which was spec at one time for lower hp engines
  23. The engine has fricking fuel filters on it if the fuel was bad it would surly throw a code for plugged fuel filters grasping at straws or what! if the dpf is clogging that fast the engine is making to much smoke not getting air for regen OR the engine brake slaves a working loose causing an incomplete burn they really need to start digging instead of pissing around testing fuel! or the sensors in the can are out to lunch BUT thats the warranty way, need to jack around looking at silly stuff first! At least they gave you your truck to drive probably no thanks to Mack, the dealer is doing that out of kindness! hopefully they get it resolved this stuff is not mechanic friendly. KS made a good point WHAT IF they weren't able to lend you your truck back?
