About tires

My old float had bias tires when I bought it. Some were really dry cracked I wasn't sure to use them or not. They held up for a long time I eventually replaced them with radials. Those bias are durable tires -

I'd have no issues running 10/20 on rear even if there bias ply for your application. Good plan though to by a good set of radial steers. Your tires will probably dry rot before they wear out so spending a bunch of money is not worth it. -
Congratulations on your new purchase. I don't know much about postal specs I have a CH 612 myself it's a good truck. What are you planning on doing with it?

It'll work considering that's what they used 50 years ago to do the same job but remember everything is 50 years older and newer trucks with twice the HP will leave you in the dust. I agree with Terry that 5 speed is probably not my first choice for soft ground and heavy loads. The lack of front brakes will probably be grandfathered in. I personally would rather have all the stopping power available.
