  1. Joe Mustangs old H. 1693 powered. Dan said Joe just turned 102 and still gets around. Just met Stormy from ATHS. She took pics of truck and my life story. Time will tell if I make print??
  2. We are here! Talked to Dan, he only brought 4 trucks.
  3. Blew the belts off going to Quaker Sunday morning. I 'thought" I didn't have any spares. Called a buddy and he brought me a couple from Azone(which didn't fit), but the one was enough to run the waterpump. Good enough for me. Made the rest of the trip over and back. No problem. Last night, while doing some thinking, I had a revelation. I got into the side box of the bunk and found the spare belt!!! Yup, when I put the a/c on the truck I removed the second short belt and put a longer one on. That short belt got thrown in the bunk for "just in case". Only problem is my mind is fading fast and can't remember chit. Got new belts this morning, along with TWO spares. Won't need them now!!!! Will be fueling up and ready to roll in the morning to meet up with group and convoying down.

  5. I have led sequential arrow turn signals on the front of my B. Pricey but I like the way they look. Fit STD oval opening.
  6. I just bought a DeWalt grinder off eBay. Sold by Summit racing. It was wayyy cheaper then any place. Yes it took near a month to get it but saved like $50 over anyone else and free shipping.
  7. Ah, yes, I remember those days as I built the wiring harness for that 41 Willy's I worked on. It wasn't an electric powered car, but the owner wanted every freak'n gizmo put in it!!!
  8. The lower bracket is homemade, using the original fuel filter mount portion. I then ran two legs down to the accy drive to support it. Rock solid. This mimics what they do with an R model that has a/c. I only run one belt, on the front pulley, as it won't clear the protrusion of the accy drive down below. The belt just touches it as it wiggles around while running. Never a problem, works well. I had to clip the fan shroud a bit to clear the pulley on the compressor.
  9. Yup, looks like you have a DOUBLE OD triplex. That is a 13 spd Triplex, so you don't split 5th gear. That is kinda a "get home gear". Basically don't really use it unless you are empty and wanna run. It won't pull it very well if you are heavy and on anything but level ground.

  11. Sounds like it's geared just like mine was 4.62 gears. With single OD it would run 65 mph flat out. Did that for years pulling my trailer, just holding it to the floor and go! With 4.10 gears it is 72 mph. They made 4.00 for these trucks but finding that ratio will be likely hard to do. I replaced mine with air ride Rockwell and found the 4.10 gears for it.
  12. I have a 4000# Superwinch in my race trailer. Carefree for 21 yrs now.
  13. The "P" Motor is a good, non turbo motor. It has the split intake manifold. Same motor that was in my truck until I upgraded a few years ago. Take a look at the rear end, on the drivers side of the gearset, will be a flat spot with a part number and gear ratio(like 4.62, or whatever). The same goes for the transmission. It will tell you if it is a single OD or Double OD version: like TRT-722 or TRT 7220. You can look at the transmission shift tag on the roof, but they are not always accurate to what is still in the truck. Truck looks pretty solid. Hope you get it.

  17. I closed my PB acct so lost all my linkable pics. Here are a few. I duplicated what they do with an R model basically. The condenser is under the bunk since there is no place out front to mount it.

  21. Check Watts for new glass, if not you can have it cut at local glass shop. Just make sure it is auto safety glass, not just home window glass. You might find someone here with used windows that are serviceable? Depends on how nice you need it to be.

  23. First upgrade I did 15 yrs ago. Back in then it was $1800 for 6 rims and Yoko tires. It hasn't gotten cheaper!!
  24. Ya, I can only say for places in the 80's. The Galaxy. First bar I frequented during college. It was a big place. It closed a long time ago, but building still in use. Limelight(there were two bars, one upstairs, one down, I forget the downstairs name right now). Again, back in college days. Long closed, but building just got another renovation and is now a home/garden joint. Hot Shots. Titty bar, early 90's. It was a really good place to be back then. $20 lasted all night. It's long gone, local family grocery store next door bought the property and expanded.
  25. Unfortunately I have air steering and I don't want to cut that link up to modify it. Plus most other model axles are too wide. I just don't care for the tires sticking outside the edge of the fender. Like when guys put R model bumpers on them. Just too wide. Now that the rims are all painted up, I'm good for now. The day the right axle comes into fruition, I'll do it. Heck, I'd have to save up for 4 alum rims! (I have two steel wheels left over from the cut off when I bought it)
