  1. Ok, going through my highway repair books, my T675 is listed as a 235 hp? At least by that book. I tried looking up the pump number, but I'm thinking it is too old for the book I have as it is not listed. The book seems to start at 1973. Was talking to Tom Gannaway the other night, he called after finding out here that I was putting the same motor in my truck as he. He brought up the 235 hp think and recalled my book saying the same thing. Is this just a differently rated 237? Or just the same thing? Neither of us have any information on the pump as to the HP rating. I think they started doing that later? It seems there are a few flavors of this motor(like others). Not that either of us are concerned, but more just curious. Just looking for thoughts.
  2. Will get $2 mil dollars and STILL be on welfare! Really? You are on welfare and you weigh more then 3 people put together. I can see why you don't go out to eat much, you can't afford to on "my money"(welfare). Jeezus.
  3. Well the motor is out. Took more time to pickup the wrecker then pop the motor out. Only had to deal with near zero temps outside. Ugh. Hope to be much warmer when I put other motor in sometime in early March.
  4. I've heard horror stories about parts for boxes like this. I don't know. My little 6241 box is working pretty well. The output is just starting to get damp after running it down the highway.
  5. Now it will be single digits!! My buddy was cry'n the other night about it. I told him I'll be out there no matter what. It has to get done. Thanks Robert, but I think the trip to Kansas is kinda out of the question LOL!!
  6. Got plans to swap a motor in my pickup next week LOL!!! At least I can do that INSIDE.
  7. Just like any car/truck manufacturer. You can't have a checklist like you did back in the 60-70's. Ordering just what you wanted. Today you buy what the factory will supply as a package. You get version "A" or "B". Period. No "add ons" or modifications. It costs too much to have all those added parts laying around for the low volume that they would use. The typical "just in time" ordering of parts from suppliers. The OEM doesn't want a pile of stuff laying around. They want to order it the day before and have the supplier bring the day they need it. I see this in the injection molding industry that I've been in for the last 30 yrs. We deal with OEM suppliers and this is a common story.
  8. Big ugly nose on it, just like the Ford superduty. I always thought Ford copied the Dodge back when the new superduty came out in '98.
  9. Well, got ahold of a couple towing companies. One said "no way". One quoted me $250 to come. That is just to get it out, then another $250 to put it back in. Youch. Put a post on Facebook and a buddy of mine has a wrecker I can have whenever I need it> Sweet! Looks like I'll be working on Saturday........when it is 12* outside! Ugh, it was 45 and balmy the last few weekends...of course. How's Hannibal say it..............."I love it when a plan comes together"........
  10. LOL!! That's pretty good.
  11. It's all about SHOCK VALUE. A bunch of high school kids would not be "entertaining" enough for the majority of the crowd. It's a circus, just like Nascar or any other big money event on TV. BTW, I didn't watch one second of any of the game.
  12. Again, taking fire arms away from law abiding citizens. They always forget, the bad guys don't care about the law.
  13. I have a steering column for one like that. Didn't know what it actually fit, but seeing the cab picture I now know.
  14. The 237 snout was rough/rusty(from the lack of anything being on it for many years), but I polished it up and the 237 balancer I got went right on with ease. Of course that will be coming back off so I can run the 673 balancer to get the pulleys in the proper location.
  15. Yup. Even goo be gone or whatever it is at the store. Just something to cut it. I even use a razor blade to help scrape it up.
  16. Well, it is just about free. One bellhousing bolt holding it in, the rest of it is completely unhooked. Just need to get a wrecker scheduled to pick it out. After pulling the floor out to get to the top bellhousing bolts, the bellhousing is only about 1" from the front floor bracing/firewall. Not much room to lift the motor. I tried to remove the balancer, it isn't going to come easy. Sprayed some PB blaster around and will try after the engine is out if I don't get to try again before. Don't know why they don't put a couple puller holes(or jack screw holes) to help?
  17. At least he was going fast enough to get it all the way out the other side.....
  18. He only lives a few miles from me, but we hardy talk. I get to running to fast and just don't keep in touch with people.
  19. Glad you got it figured out.
  20. That fellow liked his "Stink'n Lincoln's" didn't he? Suicide doors and all. Likely take all three to make one good one?
  21. That was kinda my thought. Looks pretty tight under the cab and with not much room to wiggle in the front I think those crossmembers will be coming out. That way I can just basically slide the motor in. At this point, what is a couple more bolts?? It looks like a tight fit to get that crossmember out though, with the frame channel getting tighter in the front. I'm guessing the frame might spring open a bit once I get the bolts out.
  22. My fold up engine crane was able to lift the motor when I bought it. Not by much but enough to get it off the trailer and in the garage. Now with a few hundred more pounds of stuff bolted on Im sure it won't budge it.
  23. Glenn, I have the whole front clip off(I did it in pieces as I was all by myself). Was out assessing the situation last night and realized it was tighter then I thought. I'll remove valve covers. I was looking at the back of the 237 and the block as a couple nice big bolt holes across from each other right below the deck surface. I was going to make up a 1/4"-3/8" plate to bolt there and get me up over the heads enough to hook a chain. Pull the water pump assy and use those holes for the front end. If I recalled(without looking) the trans mount is in the front area, so the rear would tip down easily. I figured a jack to hold it up/let it down when need be. Like usually I'm just trying to make it easy on myself when I get to actually do this. Trying to keep the surprises to a bare minimum. Car engines are a breeze, this is just a bit bigger then what I'm used to.
  24. Ok, before I go digging.........what is the approx weight of a 237? 1000#, 1200#?
  25. Not bad. Too bad it isn't a V8 truck!
