Well, the double frame looks servicable. The back of the cab doesn't look rotted.

We had a company car way back, early 90's Sable wagon. It was a 5spd.

Lost this one 6 yrs ago: '95, it was so nice..........and still trying to replace it. My brand new '96, 460/auto. I put a Vortech supercharger on it. Wow..that was fun to drive then. I even raced it one Wednesday night. It ran 15.8's with the blower. The Lightnings of the day would go mid/low 15's. There was one there that night and he came over wondering how the heck my big ol dually was running so fast. Only bad deal was the E4OD shifted for crap and you couldn't really get anything for them back then. You had to lift the throttle and let it shift and get back into the fuel. If not you'd just burn it up as it slipped away. Was all stock, just a turbo muffler and turndown so it had a nice little burble to the idle and a slight whine from the blower. Currently: 1989............gets the job done but just not the same as the '92-96 models.

LOL....my sister and her daughter are very, very stubborn and DEMAND a stick shift vehicle!!! Non of this pansy automatic crap for them. My niece went to buy her Audi A4 about a year ago and she picked one out. The salesman gave her a stern.>"oh, you don't want that one". She asked "why?". "It is a standard shift". She told him.."well, ya I know". Don't see many 24 yr old girls wanting a std shift. My girlfriend can't drive a stick for nothing. Just doesn't have the "coordination gene" that is needed.

Thanks Dave. The "original" version had a blue streak in the bottom tread, not red. Ya, well you can't have everything. With the work I get into...they'd be black before the end of the day LOL!!! Guess that is why I buy black shoes today. My boots are all dark colors also.

Yup, back for the day that is all they produced. Very low compression, low power engines. Kinda hard to figure with the technology of today how we ever got anything done back then?

DON'T WELD IT!!!!!!! EVER!!!!! Not sure there are new ones available, at least NOS kind of thing. Likely someone has one, somewhere. I gave mine to a fellow in Florida a few years back when I stretched my truck and put tanks up on the side of the frame.

I've been lurking around trying to find an f150 version. Only problem is they want $10k for a 1/2 ton gasser.

I started wearing them shortly after that. I lived in my Nike Cortez(white with the red swish on them) back then. Boots are the only thing you can still get in the same basic style. You can't buy that style Nike anymore. At least from where I've looked. I just get plain black ones now anyway to keep from looking dirty.

Very cool stories Randy. I miss the fact I don't have lots of pics from the things I did growing up, say mid teens til now. Lots of race car pics, but those are taken by someone else anyhow. I had a love for trucks growing up and always wanted to drive for a living. After watching shows like Movin On and BJ I thought it was the coolest job ever. Little did I know then LOL! I was told by my parents that I will get a REAL job. I'll hijack a little and show the only shot of me and a big truck. 1976 (red arrow points to me, I was 10) Mr Schott brought his truck to church one Sunday and was giving kids rides(he was retiring). I got more then one ride! I remember those twin pearl handles, the low air wig wag. I was in HEAVEN that day. Knowing how tiny those cabs really are, I realize how small I was back then. I'm barely as tall as the fender. I still love that style truck.

My guess air shift 6spd? The little lever likely a brownie box. Look under the truck for another transmission? If it didn't get used a lot, the linkage might just be gummed up.

No wonder this motor was being passed around and never used. I guess I will drill the flywheel and use it.

OK just got my flywheel and was going to run the bolts in my crank to clean out the threads. Ummmm, the bolts are too small. Why is my crank 3/4-16 thread and this flywheel take 5/8?? Can I just open the holes or is there something unique about it?

If you look around that is what they are asking for most of this newer stuff. Crazy. I will keep looking as my buddy and I try to put a plan together to fix mine. BTW...glad to see you posting Mike. Did they kick you out or did you just tell them goodbye!

I think it might just be the gold paint that makes it look brass. At least mine is painted gold(P Motor). Yes, passenger side. I think some did have a primary filter on the drivers side too? This is after I moved it to make from for a/c compressor.
