  1. Welcome aboard Jim.
  2. Ford Powerstroke had a variable vane turbo at one time? Maybe still does?
  3. A real, real slow vacation. Doubt it is geared very fast. Knew a fellow with a similar single axle version and it was a 45 mph truck. He thought of putting a Gear Vendor OD unit on the back so it would run down the highway. The old 292 Y block didn't make it a real powerhouse either.
  4. You keeping it 24v start or switching to 12v starter? 12v is common today but I'm sure you can get the 24v too.
  5. Tell'm you want it delivered by a VW ..... How's that for "'taking care of the climate"?
  6. I'm gunno make it over there, someday. Was just over by Barry the weekend before for a points race at Pittsburgh raceway. It was a MUCH drier weekend. Only rained after I pulled onto rt 22 Sunday evening to come home.
  7. Unloading in the pouring rain Saturday morning:
  8. Mike. Ya saw it. Trent. Working on getting oil cooler and water manifold. I will post pics tomorrow.
  9. I will look to get pump set for 250 at least. I'm thinking I might get the motor out right after my last race next week then I can get the flywheel and clutch out for this motor. I'd like to get things ready so I can run it before I put it in. I think I will pull trans also just so I can clean it up too.
  10. Thanks Leslie. That helps a ton. Now I know what is missing. Is yours a drivers side starter? This one came with passenger side bell housing. I didn't know yours was a 300 or is it a 237? How's it drive with your transmission? Quad or triplex?
  11. I guess I need water manifold actually that attaches to head and comes around for pump? It is all gone. I suppose I will need my water pump to make it fit a B? Damper is gone but will use mine also. How about intake? Tubing to turbo? Not sure what it looks like. Leslie can you post some pics of yours?
  12. ?? Not sure? Hope someone can tell me. I need some pieces so if anyone has any.
  13. My home computer does not play well with BMT anymore so can't add pics. Number on front is t675-4p7306 Oh and water pump is missing too.
  14. Well the numbers say T675. Only downfall is intake and intercooler is missing along with oil cooler. Very clean motor. Supposed to be from 4500 mile firetruck. Clean gold paint and Maxidyne on the valve cover tag. For basically nothing I have in it i think I can piece it together into something.. Just have to decide if I should worry about oil cooler and intercooler or just put plain intake on it? It has similar twin spin on that I put on my 673. I could just transfer over mine because it has broken chunk out of one filter mount plate.
  15. That's cool. Love to have something like that for a snowy day. Just hop in and go go go!
  16. I'm picking the motor up tomorrow morning. I will know exactly what I have then and work forward from there. Thanks Leslie, I'll let you know if I need pics.
  17. Barry has an paper air cleaner that resembles the oil bath. I will just look into getting one(or something similar). http://www.wattstruckcenter.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=59_72&product_id=397
  18. Did someone mention a Bentz bunk on a Mack?
  19. Yup. Definite upgrade.
  20. That doesn't look bad actually. I might look into that if what I have going on doesn't work out. It is about an hour south of me.
  21. Just noticed the bulldozer blade on the back. Guess that really helps it "dig in" and pull.
  22. I have 4.10 gears. Time will tell what the motor actually is that I'm going to get. If only a 237, that's fine. I'll up the pump to 250 specs and just run my transmissions. Like I said anything will be an improvement over my current motor.
  23. Just talked with owner. Have my doubts it is a 300. Likely a 237. No intercooler. But I will take it as it will be a big improvement no matter. Pick it up this weekend.
  24. Yup, I had all but 3 top leafs cut to make just spacers. They were all original leafs. I'll say that you likely won't notice a difference just bobtailing. Still won't be enough weight on it to make them move. Only after I put my trailer on it(3K lbs on the pin) did it actually make the springs move. It rode fairly nice with the trailer on. Only after about 10 yrs did I finally break a leaf(55yr old springs weren't meant to move that much). I then had new top ones made and then just a couple years later I put air ride on it. I did this modification after meeting a fellow with a B model and did the same with, only with new leafs to begin with. He pulled a 5er camper with it so he needed to soften it up as to not break the camper into pieces. I was in the same boat at the time with my race trailer. After I stretched the truck and put air ride on it, I found that even bobtailing it still isn't that great with air ride. Only with the trailer does it soften it down and ride nice. The biggest difference in ride came from the addition of 5ft to the wheelbase. It took the "buck" out of the ride.
