  1. What motor?
  2. Basically keeps the fuel turned down til the motor builds boost(so it won't smoke), so yes it will seem a bit gutless compared to without it.
  3. My work handles shipping on a daily basis so getting it loaded is not a big deal. Just getting a big enough skid to hold it is more the issue.
  4. I keep trying to pawn off my ol 673, but you are quite a trip away.
  5. He built it all. Big house, big shop and even a large dirt bike oval. For the dirt bike guy that has everything LOL!! He calls it "top of the world" because it is the highest place in town. Very cool, great view on top of the hill, but the road to it SUCKS!! He's complained, but to no avail. He has even threatened to pave it himself!!! Winter shot. House in front, banked track to the right. Shop is behind the house, can't see it very well.
  6. Well, it's just a lowly 2wd. No 4x4 poser here. Even the work trucks, I pay out of pocket to put them through the car wash as I can't stand to be in crusty vehicles. I have a bit more pride in myself then most here at work. The first new truck we had here in 1986, I used to stop at the spray wash at least once a week and clean it. I was proud of that new stake bed and I wanted it shiny red. There hasn't been an employee YET that has ever spent a dollar on cleaning a company vehicle since. Even the VP, we have to pay a local hand wash place to detail his company car. Pathetic in my eyes.
  7. When I put dynamat on the inside of my B, it was night and day difference. The doors shut "clunk", instead of "CLANK".....
  8. Mostly because of that WONDERFUL lifetime antifreeze crap. Get it out and use some green and it won't eat the intake gaskets out of it. G/F's 09 Jeep has terrible heat. Likely clogged heater core because of this red crap they put in. I wanted to flush and use green, but she bought lifetime warranty on the truck and I don't want to jinx it. I know they would void it when they do their annual inspection and found green coolant. So now she has to pay a fortune to have core replaced(I'm not doing it). She had it flushed a year ago, it helped some. Still not hot. That worthless red sh*t is "lifetime guaranteed". They just don't tell you how SHORT of a lifetime it has.
  9. The guy I'm building the Willys for, lives on a gravel/mud path. The township will NOT pave it. His house is NOT a shack, he pays a LOT of taxes on his 11 acres. The township doesn't have the money to pave it, so they just rake it and dump pea gravel on it every few weeks. Doesn't seem cheaper to maintain to me? If they just chip/seal it that would likely keep it from washing away and turning into a cow path. I dread having to travel that road twice a week. The only place that makes money is the spray wash. I spray my truck off every time I leave because I don't want it to look like I went offroading. When it's wet it's a rutted mess, when it's dry it's a rutted dustbowl. He actually is looking at buying a building IN town to park his hot rods so he doesn't have to have them washed/cleaned after every trip out. Oh, remember, the Lottery was going to help fund schools. Ya, right. That never happened either.
  10. A friend wanted to drive my B model. He barely fit under the wheel with the seat all the way down. Ya, these old trucks do have "size" limits.
  11. Better ad would be: "Orange skidder, tires hold air"
  12. Yes, I was contemplating getting round tanks, but the cost for the brackets was a bit more then I wanted to pay. The basic tank cost was the same. They couldn't make a step tank like a B model though, I would have to put steps on the straps. I just decided to go this route. Pretty happy with them.
  13. With the glare off the tank you wont notice the rusty doors! I also put new chrome elbows on the stacks. Them crusty bare metal ones werent going to cut it anymore.
  14. Well I am working hard. One tank about ready for mounting. Once there I will polish the step area. Too hard to hold tank steady with foot to polish with this big grinder. The brackets are powder coated.
  15. AWESOME news!!!!!!
  16. Like a P51 mustang............ (dammit it won't post the pic) or "Mater"?
  17. Aye Mate....I see your point. (I didn't realize you were from down under. The air starter wasn't a big enough clue for me )
  18. Top post: Mike Harbison Box154 Morning Sun, IA 52640
  19. He got mine. Bump.
  20. You need to host your pictures on a site and link them here. If you just post them directly from your computer, you will fill your memory available and can't post anymore until you delete others.
  21. I'm thinking the crossmember across the rear spring perches really hinders getting up into that top bolt. If the motor is rolled over, it might make it a bit more accessible.
  22. Back when nailhead buicks were still plentiful. Funny story. Machine shop I use did a nailhead a few years ago. They guy put it in a '87 Buick Grand National!! Don't really think it was a GNX, but just a clone. He wanted to be different.
  23. Ya, that bolt goes along with the air compressor bolts. Makes you wonder what kind of magical tool they used at the factory? 15 yrs ago when I put a 12v starter in mine, I know it was a PITA and you had to keep swapping the wrench around to get 1/16 of a turn at a time. Not sure if maybe a crows foot wrench would get in there better or not? I'm going to be swapping mine over to air starter in a few weeks so I'll be cussing right along with you. I installed the starter before putting the motor in last winter so I had plenty of access. Unlike when it is in the truck.
  24. Did some googling and found this: https://www.anythingtruck.com/product/060-K112234.html But it is the threaded the wrong way, unless you use a nipple on the tank and change the line fitting to female.
  25. I have a matching air start tank(alum round). I'll be a polishing fool come this weekend. I'll have all the brackets back from powder coating the first of the week to start mounting things. I anxious as hell to see what it looks like! Plus to hear that ol air start screaming!!!
