  1. The Dodge appears to have the high cab which was used to make room for the turbo'd Cummins or 8V-71 Detroit. It's hard to see if that's a stack on the left or part of the wrecker body.
  2. I'm pretty sure the Roadway truck was Harry M.'s also.
  3. I spy a tricked out UPS Package car. I'm pretty sure that's the one that was on Ebay about a year ago. I also think the F model was owned by Harry Mish Mosh Mush the guy that founded Jevic Transportation.
  4. Congratulations on your purchase! Although I'll probably never see it in person, I still like that it will be here in the U.S. Ooh, that's sexy. Too bad someone is blocking part of the view.
  5. Judging by the unique placement of the IFTA sticker, I was able to narrow down the unit number to somewhere between 1296 and 1298. I'm in 1324. It's good to see he got his color back.
  6. Nice pics. A lesser man would've been running around the truck stop with that scale ticket asking which way he needed to slide the tandems. Legal or not, you got the job done safely and that's all that should matter.
  7. Welcome! I've only been to Chicago so anything south of there is southern IL to me. Mike, sounds like you barely have time to breathe. I hope things will soon get back to normal for you.
  8. No brake lights, no wiper blades, no glasses and it's raining. Sounds like the "Mission from God " scene from The Blues Brothers. It's prolly best you skipped the parade, but I'm glad you found some pics. The trucks in the Parade Against Cancer are some of the best, if not THE best, examples of their respective models.
  9. Happy Birthday!
  10. Flatbedding is way more interesting than pulling a van. I'll bet the truck steered more easily when you werte hooked to that loaded stepdeck. I can't read the tractor number but that Pitt Sterling is a brother to mine. It has a DPF Detroit engine and was part of the final purchase of Sterlings. The isn't very many of those in the fleet. The clothes on the feed store girl seem to have some shrinkage. I'm experiencing the opposite at the moment.
  11. Great collection of trucks, something for everyone! Thanks for posting the pics.
  12. Oops! I see the FS now. What does the L in the suffix get you?
  13. It's good to see a jump in the numbers, but I hope Pitt Ohio isn't responsible for the surge in class 8 sales.
  14. 238 built from 1975-78. (Sorry Mike).
  15. FL737LST-I know the first L indicates an aluminum frame but does the second L mean it has aluminum doors? What else? Boy, If I had a dime for every time I said that, I'd have.....a helluva lotta dimes.
  16. Someone clearly had some plans for it at one time.
  17. A classic ride and an "old school" driver mentality. You sir, are a dying breed.
  18. I wish I could find a picture of this guy's trailer. His comments were in large type, easy to read on the move and he didn't hold back. He passed me one night on I-70 in Ohio. When I blinked my lights for him to come back over, he thanked me on the cb. Not being one to miss an opportunity to pissed someone off with an ignorant comment, I asked him how he liked the Peterbilt. He laughed and gave me a few details of what was wrong and what he was going through trying to make it right. He was well spoken and knew what he could and couldn't get away with as far as his protest. Peterbilt and the dealer are not happy about his rolling message but are apparently unable to take action against him. Of course they still have the "do the right thing" option.
  19. I wonder if that's the place on the south side of 30 that has a few B models parked out front. It's been 5-6 years since I've been past so I don't know if those are still there. One was 2 tone green.
  20. It would've been a shame for that to have been cut up sent on a boat ride. Glad you were able to save it.
  21. I'm surprised they didn't try out a few more Cascadias if they're looking for something other than Mack. There are 3 (that I know of) with DD13's and the only issue I know of was supposedly a result of driver abuse. They are not at my terminal so if they were having issues, I wouldn't likely know about it. I did drive one for a day and it pulled great on Rt 119 between Morgantown and Grafton, WV with 30k in the box.
  22. There's an Owner/Operator with a Peterbilt who is using the sides and back of his trailer to convey the message of how dissatisfied he is with his Paccar engine. He also mentions the dealer. I talked to him for about half an hour one night and couldn't believe he was still in business after what he's gone through. The sad part is that he ordered the truck with a Cummins and it mysteriously came with a Paccar engine. He agreed to accept it and now they don't want it back.
  23. The triplets made it to the show despite feeling a bit under the weather. Later in the day the fever broke and we got our color back. Looks like my brother sister sibling in the bottom row is interested in a BMT member.
  24. They purchased quite a few between roughly '06-'09 but I believe most of the straight trucks were Freightliner M2's. The Ford cabs were too small and it took a few years to find an air seat that one could actually air up without being too close to the ceiling. There may have been other issues but the decision to stop buying them was heavily influenced by the drivers. This year we had at least 50 new M2's pass through my terminal to be prepped by our shop before being distributed to other terminals.
  25. I checked a few brochures that are posted online and the only mention of an available air suspension was the Neway ARD-244. I couldn't find any recent pics but I still look pretty much the same.
