  1. A 5 day week or a 7 day week? We run 5 days and and the '09 Transtar we had was often times not up to the challenge.
  2. Thanks for posting those, Ken. I'm sure I haven't heard a running 865 or 866 in more than 30 years and when I did, I had no idea what it was anyway.
  3. Welcome! You mentioned that a Mack will be the next addition to your collection? What do you currently have?
  4. the + sign in the ProStar+ indicates (or used to) a MaxxForce engine. I went to the Navistar site and saw that Cummins engines for the ProStar are available in 6.7 and 15 liters--too small and too big. Based on the engine choices listed, I'd say there's about a 99% chance these have a MaxxForce 13.
  5. I should've thought of that. Who knows what type of pictorial I could find myself in. That's okay. Who's a good boy? That's right, you are!
  6. Good eye! I was in too much of a hurry to post the link and throw it in OD's face to notice the B model.
  7. I didn't notice the the spot mirror was chromed. I was surprised to see these are bare bones models. The cabs obviously have the low level trim, right down to the mid-rise vinyl driver's seat. The Pinnacles, Sterlings, Visions and even the CH's before them had what appeared to be a "mid-level" interior. White steel wheels are also a departure from the norm. There have been rumors over the past few months about an International purchase which also surprised me considering how problematic the '09's that they had were. Like those, these have a MaxxForce engine. I don't know the details, I only made that assumption based on the "ProStar+" designation. It's possible that these are lease/rental units which would explain the spec'ing.
  8. Get back in the kitchen. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Mack-Cabover-FL700L-Classic-w-Rare-Alcoa-Rims-/200971736987?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2ecad9579b&item=200971736987&pt=Commercial_Trucks
  9. And now it's a friggin' nightmare. Here's the details: The truck in question is a 2013 Pinnacle and It's assigned to a coworker. After about 2 weeks on the road, the engine lost power and was sent back to the dealer. My understanding is that a computer was replaced. I'm only assuming it was the ecm but regardless, the dashboard was taken apart while repairs were being made. SWR is high on all cb channels. Radio, antenna, and coax are in good working order. Antenna, like most in the fleet, is mounted on the grab handle above the rear window. The antenna has a good ground. This was confirmed by using a seperate swr/power meter and by using the process of elimination by substituting other equipment (i.e. diferrent radio, coax, etc.) Here's what we know: The only way to safely operate the cb with an acceptable swr is by using the factory antenna/coax and getting power from one of the ports on the dash that will accept a cigarette lighter plug. The driver was using the posts that are mounted on the dash for cb use but after removing the ground wire from it's post, the radio still had power. It didn't lose power until the coax was removed from the back of the cb and yet we cannot find any evidence of the antenna or coax being improperly grounded. We're thinking that somehow, during the reassembly of the dashboard, something is grounded that shouldn't be. The cigarette lighter is not working and the fuse has not yet been checked. I don't know if that is relevant to this issue. The company doesn't want drivers taking trucks apart. We're just wondering if there is a simple solution or is it going to have to wait until the shop can get to it.
  10. I was routed through the Pittsburgh terminal Saturday morning and noticed there were 5 new Macks on the lot. As a cost saving measure, these were ordered with the "bulldog delete" option. Let's recap: My current ride: And prior to that:
  11. You certainly have a better excuse for missing the show than I do. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery for your Dad.
  12. It's good to hear you had decent weather for the show. Thanks to all of you that took the time to take and post photos for those of us that couldn't be there. Mack did a nice job of modifying the U model to accept the 865/866 engines. The changes are barely noticeable.
  13. Welcome. That's a beautiful truck you have there. Being old, fat, and ugly you'll blend right in here, regardless of what make of truck you own.
  14. But it's the mustard stain on his shirt that really makes him stand out in a crowd.
  15. I don't drink milk but when I do, I prefer cow's milk. Looking good! Stay healthy my friend!
  16. I was laughing my ass off at the captions and then that appeared in the next post. I felt like I hit a brick wall doing 90 mph. Great shots otherwise, especially the F and the RS.
  17. Nice video, the truck looks awesome. Don't forget where you came from when you hit the big time, Mr Hollywood.
  18. Yep, definitely a new breed taking over. I'll admit that I do like the comfort of today's trucks but I'll drive anything that's roadworthy because that's what I signed up for. It was only 7 years ago that I was running from PA to as far west as MI and as far east as Ocean City, MD in an R model daycab. Like you, I survived and now have some priceless memories that I wouldn't have if I spent that time in a (insert modern plastic truck here).
  19. Holy Crap!!!! You're busier than $5 hooker! Prolly better looking too!
  20. My Wife is German. I drink because of that.....
  21. Unbelievable....One can only hope it's going to a caring owner.
  22. I'm outta likes but that black DM is a tough looking truck.
  23. You were in Westbury when you passed the fire truck. I lived there from the ages of 2-8. Someone needs to have their Buick confiscated.
  24. Congratulations! My Wife and I are about 8 months behind you. Time does fly when you're having fun!
