  1. I won't be able to make it. I'm recovering from a very recent neck injury.
  2. Way to go, Mr. Gaster! I'm surprised we haven't seen more of that already.
  3. Welcome!
  4. Welcome aboard! I took a quick look at the National Road Transport Hall of Fame website and will have to check back when I have more time. It looks like a fun place to visit and it 's kind of you to volunteer your time for the cause. Forgive my fellow BMT'ers for some of the silly questions, they get carried away sometimes. There is something I've been wondering about, however. How do you folks down there keep from falling off the bottom of the earth?
  5. Dammit I need to type faster. I was almost done when the new reply thingy popped-up! I think the chair is a bit harsh for a guy that's only had a few "scrapes" with the law, but I'll go along with whatever you folks decide.
  6. Very nice pictures from your country. I see they drive on the correct side of the road.
  7. Uh...yeah...I guess that's what I was....thinking....
  8. A shot of that R model was posted in someone's Macungie photos. Absolutely prefect, do you know what the current powertrain is?
  9. Like everyone else, I hate to see you go. BMT will not be the same without your wit and wisdom as a member and your ability to keep the site under control without "over-moderating" it. Heh heh...Swallows.
  10. I don't remember what brought up the subject. It's possible my Dad was asking for a raise and the price was the result of "spontaneous inflation".
  11. I was going to mention that in my reply. 5 miles from me there is a pull-off on Route 88 overlooking an S bend in the Monongahela River and the entire borough of California, PA. I would bet that if you were to show a photo of that view to a group of people and told them it was a village in Europe, they would be a helluva lot more impressed than if you told them it was 30 miles south of Pittsburgh, PA.
  12. Perfect. I downloaded it to a floppy disc..
  13. I remember my Dad's boss complaining that a bare bones, single axle R model cost $31,000 new. That would have been around 1972. I know it's not your year or model, but it's a place to start.
  14. Quad headlights aside, I think it looks like an early Peterbilt, but I couldn't find a photo for comparison.
  15. Welcome. It's always good to see someone as young as yourself show an interest in the equipment and the industry.
  16. Thanks for clearing that up..
  17. I just got my original laptop back and will be sending the problem one out. I'll try that for the heck of it and let you know how it worked, Thanks.
  18. Sure does look like a sewing machine pedal, but I can't make out the brand. That's exactly how I figgered it went down. I expect this to be an interesting week on BMT with you being on vacation.
  19. I'll assume it's not the original engine if it is/was a modern day working truck. "B-47 END 465C Diesel 4 7/16 x 5 464 155 (hp) @ 2600 350 (ft lb) @ 1600"
  20. As with the choppers, the third time's a charm. You're still short 1 tractor.
  21. He may not have. You might wanna copyright that. That's a catchy handle.
  22. A lot of American history there. I'd be willing to pay admission to walk around the place.
  23. It appears they use only one zero regardless of whether it is a single or double overdrive. it also lists all 20 gear ratios, even the redundant ones, on the 18 speed version of the Quad.
  24. The one pumping gas or the one in the minivan at the rest area?
  25. That's what I'm reading. I can write a check, but it'll have to wait until next payday.
