  1. This is the one I had but when searching for the pic, I noticed there were other styles made over the years.
  2. Probably the same one I had-looked like a C model Ford. I remember seeing Food Hauler's T800's with Middletown, NY on the door in the late 80's early 90's.
  3. Shouldn't the vin begin with U686....?
  4. Welcome aboard. You've come to right place for assistance in your restoration. There are quite a few members on here that know practically everything there is know about Macks and fire apparatus, unfortunately I'm not one of them. I'm just a "filler", kinda like bread crumbs in a meatball.
  5. Happy Birthday, Gentlemen! It seems as if everyone is having a birthday this year.
  6. I thought they was preparating to take down that tall thing. That would be the result if I were running the circus.
  7. In a "swift" pr move, Swift Transportation has applied a green-lettered version of their logo to some trucks along with the slogan "Green Team". These trucks are in fact "greener" than older models they replaced, but are no different than any other truck that rolled off the same assembly line. They simply meet the epa requirements for the year they were built.
  8. My understanding is that they are a typical, large otr company and those complaints may be valid. Then again, there some folks you just can't please. TMC runs some fine looking equipment but If I were looking for an otr flatbed job, I would avoid a large fleet that runs some of the most expensive trucks on the road when there are more cost effective options out there. Like every other carrier, they are trying to underbid their competitors and the extra money spent on equipment has to come from somewhere.
  9. I'm pretty sure there was a Two Guys in Coram, LI in a location that also served as a WT Grant and later a Caldor. We had a Vornado fan at home and IIRC, the lettering was the same as what was on the trucks.
  10. If this were the late 70's, there would be a second sign down the road that read "Disco Sucks".
  11. I read that on another forum, posted by a then TMC driver. I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to slow down on the changeover because of cost. New tires=new rims which would be a bit pricey, especially if it's all on TMC's dime.
  12. Since it's too late to say no to the wet crotch photo...good luck with the new mosheen. Great photostory, as always.
  13. I'm usually told to stop and try back some other time.
  14. Silicone implants have serial numbers, how 'bout it.
  15. I caught on when Mrs. Dash would pat me on the head and say "good boy Jimmy" and walk away while mumbling under her breath,
  16. TMC ditched the super singles when they realized how useless they were. They replaced with duals in order of unit number, regardless of tire wear. I hope this doesn't catch on:
  17. I remember the Vornado trucking company and the fans. Was that TwoGuys house brand?
  18. The girl sitting on my lap wagged her tail. Top That!
  19. Don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sure everybody was thinking that before you turned 50.
  20. Happy Birthday! Sorry to hear about your dilemma. You'll have to celebrate extra hard when you get home.
  21. Not sure how on earth I remembered that. Is H.H. Moore still in business? So you're the old, gray haired, fat, balding truck driver. I saw you last night...and the night before...and the night before that. Damn, you get around.
  22. The name Jimmy sparked a memory for me. In 2001-02, I was running to VA quite a bit and would almost always stop at the little convenience store/truck stop on the sb side of 522 in VA, a few miles south of the WV line. I used to see FL Moore trucks in there quite a bit. I was usually alone so I would spend my meal time observing and eavesdropping. One day, 3 Moore drivers came in and I don't remember what the other 2 looked like (maybe you were one) but the third was named Jimmy and had a tattoo on his neck. He was driving a silver W900 with an "in memory of" decal on the bunk in the name of a member of the Moore family. Anyone you know?
  23. Oh, is that what they're calling it now? How appropriate that the "turned on" position is when the tip is pointed toward the ceiling.
  24. Well, you beat me by more than a month. Beautiful truck. As Rob said, just the right amount of the shiny stuff. Your graphics and the red frame really set it apart from the rest.
  25. If you get bored while passing through neutral, you can always make a sandwich or read a chapter of your favorite book before grabbing the next gear. Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but not much!
