  1. Yep, it's just a matter of time. Nope, I already had a closet full of pink shirts that was given to me when I had my '74 Mustang II. Opinions have been formed and will be posted when I get the nerve to do so. I've been in it for 3 weeks........... When your poor and ugly as I am you gotta improvise.
  2. Werner and Continental merged in 1967 to form Werner Continental in 1967. Hall's Motor Transit purchased WC in 1979. Hall's folded in 1986. The former Pitt Ohio terminal in West Middlesex, PA was a WC (and later Hall's) terminal. It's hard to see from I-376 at night, but there is a non-trucking company now using that building. *Some of the above stuff I knew and the rest was borrowed from Hank's courtesy of Dave Faust.
  3. He stops by mid-week most of the time. I'm going with the abduction theory and blame each and every one of you for encouraging him to pick up hitchikers.
  4. I agree. Great pictures and info. Thanks for sharing them, Vlad.
  5. Oh crap Farmer is already reading this. (Green Dash unplugs computer and once again leaves the room screaming)
  6. After blowing a second head gasket in 6 weeks, the company decided it was time to send my trusty Sterling to auction. Parts for Sterlings are becoming more expensive and harder to find so it has been decided that only minor repairs will be made to keep them on the road. The purchase of new trucks has not kept pace with the Sterling departures so the company decided to go the "pre-owned" route as a stop-gap measure until more Pinnacles are worked into the fleet. My guess is that they couldn't find enough Macks to meet company spec so they went with what they feel is the next best option. I took a picture of the grille but altered it somewhat to see if anyone can guess the brand. Fellow BigMackTrucks members, meet my new tool, co-worker, and confidant: I knew this wasn't gonna be easy. Okay here it goes (Green Dash unplugs computer and leaves the room screaming)
  7. That was a very rude of you. How dare you paint all truck drivers with a broad brush, assuming that we are all nothing but a bunch of perverts who surf the internet to Pretty clever. I fell for it.
  8. I'm looking forward to reading about how he confronted the boars that he caught the flu from. Get Well Soon!
  9. There's something in the air at my house too... Your chili looks almost good enought to eat!
  10. The Ford I was referring to belonged to C.L. Werner, founder of the Werner Enterprises, the huge company with the blue trucks. He founded his company in 1956 in Omaha and I don't think there was any connection between him and the earlier Werner that you're referring to. I just found the use of an arrow in both company's logos to be interesting.
  11. That's a shame they were exported. Chances are they won't be cared for as well as they were in the past.
  12. I was thinking "Holy Hamburgers". That sounds like a scene from South Park.
  13. Spokes can turn any truck into an instant classic.
  14. I rest my case.
  15. I'm sure it's in there. Look again, it's probably way in the back.
  16. The bridge is in Ohio just west of Route 8. I've been past there a couple hundred times over the years but it's been a while since I've been through there in daylight.
  17. It may be beyond polishing, but there's still some pride left.
  18. Happy Birthday Paul! If it's followed by a foul odor, you only have yourself to blame.
  19. That's in amazing condition for it's age.
  20. Happy Birthday!!!!!
  21. Welcome! Be careful about mentioning U models on here. You will awaken the sleeping giant and the only way to calm the savage beast is to show him a picture of a U model. I've delivered to Boswell Lumber.
  22. It also appears to have the filler panels around the headlights.
  23. Nice video, you should be proud. Do you remember where the pics at 3:15 and 3:20 were taken?
  24. I told him I was an illegal immigrant who came to this country broke, hungry, and suffering from a stomach ulcer and that I was going to seek assistance from the U.S. Government. He gave me a dozen cases of hot sauce and said to use it quick before it spoils. I'm sure everyone else has a similar story.
  25. The current Werner with the blue trucks was founded in 1956 and the first truck was a new Ford. I believe the Werner in the above picture was the company that eventually became Werner Continental. It's interesting that both have an arrow in their logos but I can't find any info suggesting the to companies were connected in any way. http://www.werner.com/content/about/crossroads_werner_timeline.cfm
