That floor looks like it was finished with a (tool ?)  I've heard referred to as a "jitter bug"  To me ?  the jitter bug looked a lot like one of those steps that went over a tire for when working on a truck. The mason would go over the screeded concrete (sorta like an old dude with a walker) kinda lightly stamping it. It left a finish on the concrete that looked like that.  I'm sure there's a name for it, but it's kinda like a version of broom finish from what I could tell.

Spot on Paul.I asked the guy who owns the farm and he said its to stop cattle slipping.He doesnt have cattle in this shed anymore because he built a bigger one.Now its his machinery shed......

always focus on the mechanics ;;; BUT also focus on safety surroundings . looking as if carpet material would be great for nap time while pretending to be working under unit!! just sayin
